Been this price in my store (Yeovil, Somerset) for about 2 weeks.. so I guess this is nationwide :D

I have one of these, they are really good. But i have to say the discs are expensive, never any deals on anywhere.Usually £3.50 to £4 a pack. You get 16 americano type or only 8 latte and cappucino.( because you get the milk discs as well with these) Really all depends whether you want to add your own milk or use discs. Its cheaper to froth your own milk of course, therefore the the packs without milk discs work out better value.

without the price of the machine... how much would a latte cost if you use discs for milk and coffe and if you use only for coffee and you froth the milk yourself ?

i have a Tassimo and although i do agree the dics are expensive they do make really great tasting hot drinks.
the T-Discs supplied with the creamer work out at 43p per drink and the T-Discs without the creamer discs cost 22p per drink.

i tend to buy the Carte Noire crema intenso or the Kenco Caffe Crema and add steamed milk which i steam with my cheap espresso machine with a steam wand.
my favorite though is the Starbucks house blend which are sold in 8 packs and tend to be £1.85 - £1.95 in supermarkets. these work out at 25p per drink but are exellent for making large cappuchino`s or latte`s as they have a stronger taste than other coffee brands and the taste does not get lost when adding lots of steamed milk.

the Tassimo is also good for making tea with the Twinings tea T-Discs and the hot chocolate from Milka and Suchard.

sure a Tassimo is expensive but you get great tasting coffee all the time without all the trouble of grinding beans and worrying about tampering and water temprature and to boot its loads better than instant mud people call coffee.

This is a great price and the machine has so many good reviews everywhere you look but I just did not like the taste of the coffee. prob just me tho

This is a very good price.
I still use the original braun tassimo machine which still works fine and only really buy the Crema disc which is 16 discs for £3.19 in Asda, Tesco etc. I just fill half a mug (largish mug) with milk, microwave it for 1 minute then put it under the tassimo machine for a decent coffee tasting coffee without half a cup of froth. Once starting with a tassimo I have never gone back to instant coffee at home.

From Which?

Bosch Tassimo TAS6515GB

Although the Tassimo hot drinks maker is easy to use, it's slow to dispense drinks and performed poorly in our taste tests for both espresso and cappuccino.
The Tassimo makes one espresso or cappuccino at a time by using a unique 'T-Disc' system - it takes T-discs rather than using pre-packaged coffee pods or ground coffee.
Simply insert a T-disc and press the big button located on the front. For more than one drink, insert another disc and press go again. An LCD display will even guide you through the process and will tell you when to fill the tank or whether it's time to descale. It's rated 'good' for build quality, too.
Although this system is simple to use, as there's no need to measure out ground coffee, it takes almost 51 seconds to produce an espresso, which is slower than most machines on test. It takes even longer for cappuccino, as you have to wait for two different discs to be dispensed.
Our expert wasn't impressed, describing the crema as a 'bit broken and holey' and the espresso taste as 'hard and dull' (rather than fresh and clean).
Cappuccinos have an 'acceptable but not too special' taste and a 'mass produced' appearance, but with good 'colour blend'.
The amount of water dispensed is automatically measured, but pressing and holding the manual button means you can add more water if you want a bigger drink.
This smart-looking machine would fit easily on your counter-top, as the lack of steam pipe, porta filter and tamper means it is compact in size.
The removable water tank at the back of the machine is easy to use and can be filled at any point during your coffee making. Cleaning is easy as the machine has an automatic flushing cycle, while the external surfaces can be wiped with a damp cloth.
Pros: Simple and easy to use, good build quality
Cons: Scores poorly in our taste tests

We got a tassimo from tesco at the weekend. Model t40 I think.

We got a £40 voucher through the post from clubcard and inshore price was £99. Voucher brought it down to £59. It also included a pack of discs (I chose machiatto).

So far we are loving it!! Inside the box came a £20 voucher for the online disc store :)

well in my opinion the voucher didn't get the price down to £59, you still needed to pay £99. In theory what you said is true in practice if you want only the coffee machine you can't get it for £59 you need to spend at least £99

I got a link in an e-mail from Sainbury's the other day for one of these machines giving me 6000 nectar points which I think is worth £30 making the machine £44.95. Tempted but the disc are a little expensive. The model is T20 which looks like the one in the photo.

I agree, it is a good machine and worth the money. As i said earlier, the discs are expensive, but probably on par with other brands, but worth it considering what you pay in a coffee shop :) I didn.t know you could get starbucks ones ! Are these tassimo make or starbucks ? I am presuming tassimo because i thought you couldn.t use any other make in them., or am i wrong :D
