Seems a good price, but I wouldn't recommend Bosch anymore. I've always bought their products, thinking they were synonymous with quality, but I recently had to replace my Bosch washing machine and dishwaher as they broke down just out of warranty. And then the same thing happened to my mum's Bosch washing machine. Previous models I'd bought from Bosch seemed to last for years. Also, a complaint I had with my last Bosch washing machine was that it was just too economical! If I used powder detergent, I had to use an extra rinse, because it was too mean with the water. The wash cycles seemed incredibly short, and didn't always clean too well, so I'd often have to select extra wash. I don't have these problems with the cheap Zanussi I bought as a replacement.

I have to say that we have this machine and while it's largely OK, the buttons that you use to select spin speed, on/off, etc are tremendously annoying. You dont actually push them in and out - they are these "touch sensitive" things that you just need to brush against to operate. Sounds cool maybe, but half the time it doesnt seem to register when you have pressed so you press again and it goes ahead 2 settings. Its also very easy to brush past the machine (taking stuff out of the dryer or whatever) and accidentally change a setting or pause the wash without realising. One other comment: it is quite noisy - more than the cheaper Candy machine we had before.

I've been told by someone who sells these that you cant really count on brand name as a mark of quality anymore. Many different makes of washer are exactly the same machine underneath made by the same manufacturer but with different fascia/branding. It's down to price and a cheap Bosch will be as poor as another cheap make. Sadly its true that you get what you pay for.

I second the previous remarks about Bosch washing machines.:x

I bought a more expensive model for £500 from John Lewis 3 years ago. Went for a Bosch as I thought they were a good brand and would last a long time.

On Friday the machine made loud bangs during a wash, finished OK, then refused to switch back on. I replaced the fuse in the plug, switched it on & got a loud bang and flash.

Bosch totally uninterested in helping me out, other than offering an engineer visit with parts for £189. John Lewis also uninterested in helping. Considered quoting sale of goods act etc but have a small child with lots of laundry & couldn't be bothered with a fight.

Have ordered a Siemens for delivery today, hoping better quality & they come with a free 5 year warranty at the moment.

what you want is a zanussi, with no exageration my folks had one that went strong for about 20yrs, did all my years of rugby kit, later discovering the filter solid with mud... and even when it was on its way out it lasted a good few more years courtesy of a repair man

it finally went a year back and theyve just purchased another one

You think that's bad try having the Hotpoint, top of the range, I had which went wrong 3 times in 9 months, someone else who purchased it had 6 faults in that time. In comparison and all that...............

I have a Bosch since my heap of crap went back in Nov and have to say it's faultless.
