I love my Bosch, small capacity but heat added 'cause I think everything Bosch does is amazing :)

Is Bosch a reliable make for white goods?

I dont own this but had been searching for a machine last week and my thought was to go for a bosch machine as I always thought it was a great brand. It would seem though they have slipped into making products for a cheaper price point though. I instead ended up getting the LG one and i know its £50 more but the direct drive motor seems to work really well although time will tell. Washes are great and from reviews it seems people who have changed to the LG from a bosch seem happy to have done so.

Bosch is certainly better than hoover or indisit etc but i think samsung and LG have taken the crown in washing machines.

I also noted that on most bosch machines they dont have spin only not sure if this model has this feature,

I also used the o2 £25 off code and had no issues so remember if you have the app to use it.

Just my 2p worth but great price for a bosch heat added

I think bosch are a reputable brand. I think any company that has their own manufacturing plants opposed to re badging products made by other companies or outsourcing the production of white goods. bosch are one of the few that still have their own factories so I would think quality is kept high

Not as good as they used to be but still one of the best .
They make great washing machines.

Our Bosch recently broke down - needed new motor brushes, which I bought for a tenner and fitted myself. Not bad going, first breakdown in 9 years!!

Harsh!

I voted this Hot given its a Bosch from experience of the make. However having looked at the description of the washing times: 135 mins is far too long to be justified.

Anybody recommend a good washer dryer under £500?

Purchased Samsung Ecobubble from Co-op electrical , which includes 5 year warranty, for £350 , delivered next day .
then a £20 off for being co-op member (free to join, and takes 2 minutes).

We've had ours 9 years too and my husband did the brushes a couple of days ago, working as good as new again.

this is why I did not buy another bosch + mine had a very slow wash time, I found the replacement brushes just don't last long , I now have a brush-less motor (direct drive)

My Bosch machine was purchased 11 years ago and has been 100% fault free so far.
Is averaging about 6 washes a week.

Unfortunately it seems the newer model has some stupid buttons and digital display, instead of a nice easy rotary control for spin speed.

The right hand programme knob looks just the same, which is good. After all, what can be easier to use than a rotary knob?
My machine takes about 50 minutes for the normal 40°C easy care programme.

I would happily buy another, although if they made a model with the same controls and a larger capacity, I would be a willing customer.

I've got a bosch machine and it has a 15 min wash! also programmes that take 135mins can be cut to an hour by pressing the speed perfect button

I know what you mean. 9 years fitted to a machine that goes on twice a day, from a set of brushes that are actually designed to wear away with time just ain't long enough... oO

impressed you got nine years - I only got 2 1/2 (perhaps new machines are not built as well) - the point was that the replacement brushes did not last long (just over half a year) ,plus now I don't have that to fix- ever

Inverter motors have huge advantages over traditional motors (torque, noise, MTBF, efficiency). Only downside is replacement cost and the cost of the controller! You may not have brushes that need replacing, but if it does fail you're looking at a new washing machine.

I suspect you are right - I did have a look just out of interest in the cost of a replacement but there is not many for sale which is a good sign as it is probably very reliable and rarely goes wrong (but expensive as you say at 50 - 150 pounds)

One of the better ones but bottom end products such as this are made in Poland, China and elsewhere

How hard would it have been for you to not have been so nasty to a first time poster for no reason? Eight years a member, two deals posted.... says it all.
