Plus dont forget 2 year warranty, although you can get a JL own brand machine (made by the same group as Bosch) which is nearly the same spec for £20 less with a 3 year warranty http://www.johnlewis.com/230604487/Product.aspx

Quite a good price compared to elsewhere at the moment, but I bought this washing machine for £249 last weekend at a local Co-operative electrical store, the 2 year warranty comes as standard. It is a good, basic machine but no digital display, and not a vast array of programmes. I wanted a reputable brand, and as my machine had just broken down and I needed a replacement on the spot, this was the best I could get at the time. Am pleased with it, but it is fairly bog-standard in terms of specs. Is available for £329 in quite a few places, but of course there is a lot to be said for JL customer service if things go wrong.
ps I think JL appliances are made by Electrolux, not Bosch - I have one of their freezers.
ps voted hot because probably best price at the moment and would pay a bit extra for JL anyway.

Correct re. JLP machines being made by Electrolux. DEFINITELY not Bosch!

The price of this seems pretty average. I bought the model up (digital display etc.) for £30 or so more a month ago.

'After acquiring the household division of AEG in 1994, in 2005 Electrolux bought the rights to the brand name AEG and now uses it on some of its products. As of 2009 the AEG name is also licensed to various companies.'
