whats a good set i should get

Bose are one of the most over rated manufacturers of audio equipment; and overpriced doesn't do justice to what they charge. They need a word of their own.

Having said that, I know nothing of these headphones, so they may well be the best out there. I'll stick my vastly superior (to any portable headphone) Yuin PK1's and not vote.

Have a look at www.buy-earphones.com £32.99p-bargain.I own a pair and they are very-very good well worth the price I paid on the site-they came from the good old USofA and were p&p free as well:thumbsup:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage..

Probably selling fakes at that price anyway ;-)

Hi,look in http://www.head-fi.org/forums/ ,www.avforums.co.uk etc etc.Prob at a price you want to pay, also what sound signature you require ie not all have lots of bass etc,if that's required.
Unless you can try lots of different ones, only way is to look for as many opinions as possible, everyone's requirements are different.
Also take into condideration what DAP you are going to use with.

Cheers BOB

Odd that. A premium brand that has a superior marketing department.

Imho, the Bose headphones are pretty good and at this price HOT. I certainly won't argue that equavalent Sennheisers, Shure, Etymotics etc. arent better as thats a personal preference. As the (flawed) article says "Audio Review notes that the engineering behind Bose speakers is such that their products play the sound the human ear hears best". That's hardly a revelation.

I had a read, seems to be one guy bashing one particular bose system, with a load of specs which he doesnt list the source, as I couldnt find them on boses site or any other. Every user review of the same system I found was good, bar one which was clearly the same guy. Sounds like one guy with a vendetta against Bose.

If anyone wants but find it too expensive then I have a nearly new pair of these. If interested then let me know and I will create a new thread for £25 delivered.

Thanks

This might be a good price, for this specific product but there are superior alternatives imo:

Here we go. It's a given that everytime someone mentions Bose, the knockers come out of the woodwork. For every one of these articles there are dozens praising Bose equipment.
Not forgetting consumers opinions. Just search for Bose on reevoo and there are loads of 9+ reviews. http://www.reevoo.com/search?product_brand=Bose&q=bose
Who's Alison Johnston anyway?

Picked up a set of these in America in September and cannot fault them so far and are very comfy in the ear
#15
I have these, amazing headphones!!
#16
I also have these amazing set of headphones!
However , this is my fourth pair!
They seem to keep breaking on me :(
However BOSE do replace them :)
#17
If you read the reviews, it seems that Play have been selling them for £15 and £20 in the past, so this seems like a pretty steep price hike.
suspended#18
They are not proper inear earphones which gives a worse effect when compared to proper ones like creatives/senn/razer. Shure are probably the best but the most expensive, cx500 are great and less than this(£30).

Not voting.

I am. When you say nearly new, how much use have they had?

The ones I have seen on play.com have been sold via playtrade and people have left feedback to say the are fake's so not sure if these are the same ones you have seen

Play have never sold these at those prices, marketplace on Play, perhaps. Wish people would vote on the price compared to elsewhere, not any other reason

Apologies for having an opinion and expressing it.
#23
Bose are good but tend to be priced a little (ok a lot!) above where they should.

Does anyone know how they would compare to the Shure se110's or these?
http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/880715/Shure-E2c-Sound-Isolating-Earphones/Product.html

I'm tempted with the E2c's
#24
If the Shure SE110's come back at £18, def grab a pair, I have the E2C's and they are great.
#25
Cheers, will keep a look out

Just like I have.

Your entitled to an opinion, of course. I've seen these same comments it so many times though, and I wonder how many have actually owned or listened to Bose gear, and how many have just heard someone else say it.
Have you owned or heard any Bose stuff?
#27
I have a pair of Klipsch i got from amazon based on a recommendation & great price and i must say they are the best i have ever heard, they take a bit of getting used to because they are in ear and sit a bit different looping over the top of the ear but they sound so amazingly rich and clear and they completely block outside noise (that includes the missus when required :whistling:)

I think they will give Bose a good run for there money !!!
#28
I have Bose triport OE's & love them. Also have a Bose system in my car & it sounds great. there are always a lot of Bose knockers around but as the previous post states..... how many actually own or have tried any?

very good ones, I got these for 20 pounds when I bought them along with dock for ipod, they are fab, I had a problem with the cushions that are provided, they did not fit well, hence went to the showroom and explained the problem, they sent me 8 new sets of cushion, is various sizes in two different materials...very good sound wise and the box that is given along with them is very durable and easy to pack them when not in use...

Hi,i like the Shure Se110's i have at the moment, but they are bass light(even with a good fit in the ear etc).Detailed but certainly not for a Bass Head.
Whether rightly or wrongly,if you think its bad on this site, don't go in any type of HiFi Forum & mention Bose :)

Cheers BOB

Bose are HI-FI for dummies. Cleverly marketed, over priced and more importantly not really that good.
Take there ridiculously overpriced wave radio for example
banned#32
Fact. If you want true hifi at midprice just get these.

Cleverly marketed? I'm not sure where this comes from. I don't recall seeing many Bose adverts (aside from the Waveradio in the sundays). I think the quality sells itself.
Another thing, many of the higher quality cars manufacturers fit Bose equipment. So am I to believe that masssive and successful companies like Audi, Mercedes, Honda etc have all been duped by the marketing hype?
No, I think not.

Heard it many times. Much less expensive yet equal quality gear can be found. The surround systems Bose used to produce were awful. Can't say anything about most recent systems specifically, as I haven't had reason to listen to any of it. I don't rate them so I don't bother.

That's why I said I couldn't really comment on these headphones. But I doubt they're as good as their price suggests.

They put it in there cars so the average person thinks "ooh, its got a bose radio in it. must be good" Read any proper Hi-fi magazine and they dont even usually get a mention. Or if they do its the usual raised eyebrows. And as for your argument about marketing, well you need to read more than sunday magazines. They have many adverts , even for headphones in such magazines as FHM and Empire, Usually banging on about some gimmincky Quasi scientific breakthru

Ah, I see. So Bose are the experts in marketing, and Audi and Mercedes put Bose equipment in their cars to make people thing they are good cars when really they are crap.
Thanks for that. I can see now.
