Good price, I got the jbl radial a month or so ago for £112, tempted by this but gonna wait to see if anyone else does it cheaper
#2
shame this isn't the one with audio out.....
but heat added
#3
Had one a couple of years now...great sound.

While the description says it is compatible with all iPods, that might just mean for playing. I have a 3rd Gen iPod Touch and the Bose does not charge it.

Great sound, very clear and can be very loud. I've got this one I think (if this is the original Bose SoundDock).

Charges my Gen4 no problems !

The only people that dont seem to think that these sound great are those that have bought something considerably cheaper like the Klipsche which do sound ok but are not in the same league as the Bose.

Get one you wont be dissapointed

Good price and brilliant since they updated the original dock to charge the latest ipods and iphones now. Wish the B&W docks were more affordable but will make do with Bose for now
#8
is it not the sound dock 2
#9
anyone know the difference betwen this classic version and the current sound dock (10?)
#10
Reading the amazon reviews, quite a few of them say that the sounddock simply just stops working from 8months+

Might be a good idea to get some sort of 3 yr warranty with this if unavailable and reasonably priced

The new model (called sound dock 2) also has a 3.5mm input for sound so you can connect other mp3 player or phone. Also the new model definitely charges most of the ipods (including the current generation) while original one was not consistent in charging the ipod range. Other than these they are same.

does anyone know if this will charge an iphone4

Mine has worked faultlessly for 3 years with regular use.

Good saving, voted hot.

For those who still can't afford this (and dont need the portability), you can buy the Creative T20 powered speakers and connect to a generic ipod dock, keep a £100 in your pocket and possibly enjoy better sound :)

Yep will charge the iphone 4, however you would need to put it in airplane mode when docked as when the phone is reg on/off the network you will hear the beep beep beep sound

You must have a unit that was made pre August 2008. They did something with the pins. Any unit made after this date works.

Not a good deal ...it's Classic Version

Classic Version - Only IPOD can work

Second Generation (Option: without Battery) - IPOD will work + This has auxilary 3.5mm input port which can be used to connect any MP3 device, Laptop or connect any phone which has 3.5mm port. usually sold at 249.99 quid. I got it for 249.99 - 40 discount = 210 from comet when they were running offer 40off when u buy ipod ..i asked the store manager to give me a deal as i already have ipod and he did gave me :)

Second Generation (Option: With Battery): Exactly same as above but this has battery and is 100 quid more i.e. 349.99

S10: This is the superior system ..and its speaker uses waveguide technology...looks bigger and bulky ...has bluetooth streaming connectivity ..and better sound than all the above but really costly ..I guess 599 quid ..Not sure if it has inbuild battery option ..

I've never heard of Bose.
Is it as good as Onkyo?
#23
It's always been slightly cheaper at John Lewis, and comes with a 2 year warranty (or a 3 year warranty for an extra £20). Given the Amazon reviews, I know where I'd buy mine from. Voted cold.

It's got a 2 year warranty with Comet - the first year is a Comet warranty, the second year is direct with Bose.

I had to check, as otherwise I'd have kicked myself if it broke after 1 year and 1 day, as anything electrical I buy tends to do.

Just got an email back from Bose. To have my old Dock modified to allow charging they will charge £75. Think I'll just get a Klipsch.
