Two great Bose products for £270. The speaker appears to be the white leather edition and also comes with a bag. There are web sites selling just the speaker for more than this deal so this is a good deal for quality products.

They are not! The headphones can be purchased for just over 100 quid online.

Great price for the pair though. If you want a nice bose set up.

Its not that much o an improvement. The sound quality is pretty much the same, the only real difference is that the Soundlink 3 has an 11 hour battery life compared to the 7 hour (i admit thats a massive improvement) however the new Soundlink looks like an ancient DAB radio. It is absolutely UGLY compared to the Soundlink 2! The Soundlink 2 comes with a magnetic snap case (similar to those for ipads) it looks much more sleek, it sits well and the case acts as a stand too.

I've recently brought the Soundlink 2 even though I had the option of getting the Soundlink 3. Not everyones cup of tea but this is definitely a cracking deal!

Heat added!!

Have you heard the sound link? Or are you just making a sweeping statement like so many ill informed posters do? I have this, and as a portable speaker, it is superb. I take it camping and people lalways comment on how good it sounds.
Expensive, yes, but you get what you pay for.

Got a Cambridge minx go for outdoors that cost under £100 so seems expensive to me but I'm sure it's a good deal.

If the term "slightly" equates to "significantly", then yes.

AE2i are Around Ear headphones, not over ear. Sorry to be pedantic, but there is a subtle difference.

Obviously never been in an Audi with a Bose sound system in then the quality is amazing.

The AE2 headphones are awesome, but white?! You'd look like a bit of a fool wearing them.

Also, the Bose sound link mini IS the best portable bluetooth speaker bar none.

So Bose and, in particular, the soundlink mini, may be overpriced.. but it is the BEST sound quality in that form factor bar NONE.

Don't Audis used Harmon Kardon? Though I will admit Bose are fantastic quality.

Way overpriced for what it is. Though I did buy Beats Pro headphones so can't really talk. Regret it everyday of my life.

Does frequent use of capitals for accentuation of claims actually make those claims correct?

The Bose is OK but there are cheaper options which hold their own against the Bose and some slightly more expensive options also in the portable segment which are better. Look at some of the Cambridge Audio, Logitech or Sony as portable and other makes for the non portable alternatives as you will either save a bit of dosh or get a better SQ.
Bose is like Apple, simple, marketed well and requires a premium, but, not necessarily 'the best'.....

Personally I prefer the look of the 3, but everyone has their own opinion. As for sound quality, this review says the 3 is better http://uk.pcmag.com/computer-speaker-reviews/4117/review/bose-soundlink-bluetooth-speaker-iii
I had the option of getting the 2 for £170 or the 3 for £225, I went for the 3 and don't regret it.

Sometimes Bluetooth speakers emit a humm/buzz when in use / not in use.

Do any users know if this is the case with this item? I am very interested.

Ah, so tempted to grab these! Been waiting for a deal on Bose for quite a while now, though I don't exactly NEED them. Must.resist.!

Since using mine, i never get that. It's absolutely silent when not in use. Another great feature of the Soundlink 2 is when the device is switched on and running, as soon as you flip the case to cover the speaker, it switches the unit off - effectively saving battery life if you forget to manually push the switch off button. When you flip off the case (when it was switched on) the speaker instantly plays the music as it was never switched off! Pretty neat if you ask me!

Thank you for your first hand comments. I won't be taking this out the house much. Do you think it'll be OK for that?

I had a SoundLink Mini and didn't think the sound was good for the levels I listen at. It sounded a bit hollow and flat? Is this better for louder music?

Also has a Bose Sounddock III but sent it back. The sound was great but had to keep taking my iPhone out of its case. That and the fact you can't easily change songs.

What do you think?
#32
Have loved the sound of every Bose product I've heard. Hot deal!
#33
The thing I can never get my head around is why some people spend a lot of money on high quality audio equipment like this and then play digital audio files that have been recorded in anything other than lossless. It's like putting top of the range 186 miles an hour rated tires on a Citroen 2CV!
#34
I had a bose soundlink mini and returned it because the sound didn't hold its quality at high volumes, I replaced it with the white soundlink 2 and I'm very impressed! Perfect for taking it around the house and in the garden. I also took mine on the beach in Mexico and it was loud enough, no regrets buying this, awesome speaker!
#35
Just ordered mine.. 2pm next day pickup from store is a nice touch as well
#36
No highs
No lows
It must be Bose
#37
Read the reviews for the Soundlink 2 and 3 - they differ in bass. I went for the "uglier" Soundlink 3 for a more balanced sound. These Soundlinks are really good. Room filling sound from a small device. I love mine.

No it isn't,it offers no where near the same protection or the same great looks. The sound as far as I'm aware is the same and on the 3 the paint job is cheap and comes off..
#39
The speaker is decent for its small size. But increase the size and you can get far better for about £20.
