These speakers are just incredible, the sound you hear from them is great.
Don't just take my word for it, take over 800 5 star reviews on average from amazon!
(Who by the way, seem to have price matched)

I actually returned my Bose at £125 in favour of the Flip 2. The Bose is a great bit of kit but pretty much on par with the Flip 2 and the Flip 2 can be quite often found for £50 so at more than twice the price of the Flip 2 its not worth it.Having said that you wont be disappointed with the Bose, its just a question of price.

It depends on your needs. I would say the Bose is more for the house than outdoors. The Flip 2 is slightly lighter and just feels more portable. The Bose is mains charged whereas the Flip2 is USB chargable. The Flip 2 also has NFC.

So if money was no question and you wasnt going to take it out of the house then probably the Bose but only just.

I went for the Logitech UE instead. Thinking it's got better stereo and all around sound/design, personally.

Cold... Bose = overhyped, overpriced & poor sounding

Are you not getter going for sonos with the connectivity and features rather than Bluetooth?

With this offer, Deezer £5 per month half price x 12 months = £60... add that onto the cost of the speaker making it £192.

Sonos play 1 is £169 with 12 months free deezer.... Bose great brand but as a 4 zone sonos user I would go with the current sonos offer. Even better if you can get the sonos speakers cheaper like the recent Littlewoods £119 offer.

Thanks for the reply, I think the Flip2 is sounding the better deal due to NFC and being more portable plus I can spend the saved money on something else:D

Of course the Sonos is a fab speaker but shouldn't really be compared with a bluetooth speaker. If your after a non bluetooth speaker then yes the Sonos is a given but the idea of a bluetooth speaker is that its portable and can be taken anywhere and not be reliant on a mains supply and a home wifi network.

Agree.
What you get is the standard Bose distorted sound rather than the sound the way out was supposed to be.

When did this become hotukreview site, have a look at revoo if you want a review site.

There is nothing wrong with Bose millions of people wouldn't buy it if there was.

Good speaker but really that portable.
Still using my JBL charge until bose can come up with a micro usb chargeable speaker and doesn't need a 40 quid carry case.
#22
Oh and of course starts using aptx bluetooth

Been looking to buy a small portable speaker myself, went to listen to a few last weekend. In terms of sound quality the songs play one was best, found the Bose and UE boom were not in the same league. But it depends on use, if portability outside the house is important than the sonus is no good to you. Between the Bose and UE i found the UE to be more engaging and less tiring to hear, the Bose sound was less natural and the bass a bit overdone.

I'm still not decided, there is a new portable Bluetooth out the denon envaya mini, looks nice priced at £99, nice little portable with a big brother that has some good reviews. Only trouble is very few places stocking at present so haven't been able to go and have a listen to it. If anyone has it would be great to hear your views.

I went for the Logitech UE instead. Thinking it's got better stereo and all around sound/design, personally.

I've got both and they've both got pros and cons. However, the main issue in my opinion with the UE Boom is the fact that the rechargeable battery is not replaceable. Trying to gain access to the battery would mean having to wreck the speaker. The Bose is more of an indoor spesker but you can get cases for it and it can be used outdoors if you take care of it. The UE boom is better for outdoor as the sound it pumps out is almost 360 whereas the Bose is directional obviously due to its design. The UE Boom has the advantage of being ready to use out of the box along with a certain degree of water proofing and a rubber speaker structure. Bass-wise the Bose trumps the UE Boom.

Bose Soundlink Colour is the new portable... I suspect they will kill this range soon. The sound on the new one is slightly more bassy but it's about 30 cheaper on Amazon.

It is plastic... but quite gripy to hold, and I like the square shape better... The rectangular shape looks odd, I am not sure I would be comfortable taking that outside. This one was very loud for it's size... A friend of mine bought it, was quite impressed - Amazon dropped the price a little bit last week, went for it at that point.

you shouldnt pimp your own deal on here, even though your deal is pretty good

Absolutely excellent little speaker for a small or medium sized room. I think I paid £159 for mine a few months back, but definitely have no regrets.

I bought mine from John Lewis 2 weeks ago for £159, can I get a refund ??

If you purchased online and delivery was less than 14 days ago, yes you can

If you purchased it as a 'gift' you can up until mid-January.

I'd recommend contacting them via their Never Knowing Undersold policy. I am sure they will offer you a refund of the difference. They have most times I've asked.

as my mum would say "you cant polish a poop", or words to that effect.

one of my colleagues has one of these and having heard it a few times i think its fab, if i listened to more music i wouldnt hesitate to buy one of these.

and hot from me cos its the cheapest around not because of my opinion

I'm not convinced. I don't like the look of the Colour ones. They look cheaper to me. Aimed at a 'teen' market.
