OK that's an excellent price, £100 off. It's quite rare that you'll find these monsters at this price. Hot from me!
#3
It was b grade stock and it's also out of stock great bit of kit though

Really good deal, although not as good as recently offered through Best Buy/Quidco (effectively 30% discount off new price of £399, with free delivery).
Ordered item online early yesterday before it became OOS. Be aware that these are B Grade stock - "Each unit may have slight cosmetic flaws, but it's sold fully operational and mechanically intact. It also carries the standard guarantee [2 years with JLP] so you can buy with confidence".

The title shows 'instore' not online.
The instore price has been £299 for a little while.

This wasn't 'b' grade stock in John Lewis as far as I could tell.

Just part of the clearance offers John Lewis had on.

There were at least 10 on the shelves in Sheffield.

Also had a couple of 160GB Apple TVs for £129.

There is actually 1 'b' grade available if you want to get it online.

No it hasn't...in Nottingham its been £399, at least up until a few weeks back when I went shopping. V good price, I thought I got a bargain at £340 a few months ago.

Cheers

Really pleased with mine, bought from bestbuy.

It depends on which store you go to. Recently the DSI XL was reduced in price at only the Liverpool store but 'most' other JL stores matched the price.

It may therefore not have been available at your local JL but it has been at some others and were talking about within the last month not prior to that.

As much as I've enjoyed B&W speakers in the past, this is a lot of money to pay for a ghetto blaster without a music source.
I would still go the Powered speaker route (albeit an uglier and less tidy solution) connected to a sub £10 ipod dock and keep £200 in my pocket.

I would want a full-on Denon/Onkyo/ NAD micro Hifi system with DAB radio, ipod Dock and direct play from USB inputs for this money.

£300 for ipod speakers??

Bloody hell the recession must have been a dream
#18
am I right in thinking this is a £300 pair of joined speakers?

ffs!

(and don't give me any of the 'high quality' sh8te, it links to an i-plop which in the vast majority of cases have low quality mp3's on them anyway.

It'd be cool if it actually flew...then it would be word it.

I went to JL Sheffield today but it's still £399 on the price tag. Anyone to clarify?

We picked up one of these in Bluewater today for this price, looks like new so far very pleased.
#25
Saw them in the Edinburgh store today - they are right by the electronics checkouts
#26
I rang up and purchased one of the last 4 from the Bristol store. I was advised that if you ring John Lewis that they will send one to any store you want them to. With 2 years guarantee, this is a fantastic piece of kit for the price, and sounds really good.
#27
Got one from Cambridge store. They still had a few left.

Sound's brilliant and looks like a piece of art!

They also have them in Superfi for the same price, online and instore. Only a year's guarantee though.

I picked up one in SuperFi today, 2 year guarrantee and the letter from B&W saying so inside. Absolutely pristine condition, was going to wait for the new one but this is £200 less than that will be - no brainer.
#29
Also if you register it online with B&W they give you 3 months free access to their "Society of Sound" site which gives you high quality lossless albums. Currently downloading flac24 version of Scratch my Back by Peter Gabriel for instance...
