And all this from room-friendly cabinets designed to fit beautifully into your home environment.

The new 700 Series. Inspired by recording studios. Made for living rooms.

With the 704, music is a revelation, with details picked out in pin-sharp detail and with exceptional realism.

Sharper detail

Carbon Dome tweeters are purpose-built for the 700 Series. Delivering a dramatic improvement on the aluminium double dome tweeter, they raise the breakup threshold to 47kHz, for pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail.

Voices and instruments are delivered with purity and precision, thanks to the smooth, accurate Continuum™ cone midrange driver.
2062538031682715297.jpgClean and clear

The midrange drivers in these floorstanders feature decoupled design, adapted from a similar system in the 800 Series Diamond. Decoupling reduces cabinet colouration, and boosts midrange clarity.
20709692501682715309.jpgA triumph of science

Developed using advanced computer modeling techniques, the Aerofoil™ Profile bass cone has variable thickness, providing stiffness and rigidity where it’s needed most. The result: deep and dynamic bass.

Bought these over Easter, stunning for the money.

Brilliant speakers but always felt these were better paired with a sub, the 703 however were brilliant without a sub for the low end sound. That's being picky though! (edited)

Yeah they have way more presence with a sub. I used to be a bit snobby about using a Sub listening to music with a sub but not anymore, if set up right and have excellent sub it can sound mind-blowing.

Pairing is indeed important. What do these play well with? I have an Arcam amp.

I've just ordered. Didn't look at reviews just went for them at this price. I have B & W M1 system at the moment but moving house soon so will keep these in the garage until the move. Then will probably get the center speaker and some decent rears. (edited)

Gonna have to jump fast on a S2 centre and rears as its end of line.

Audioscience is a horrible site full of audiophile snobs. Their reviewers nitpick stuff not even audible to the human ear!

What hifi review isn't exactly glowing for a 2k speaker despite a 4 star rating

Great speakers at that price! B&W have consistently made great speakers for decades. I sold them for many years and was never disappointed by any of their ranges.

Not as good as the previous deal but still decent enough.
A lot of speaker this. Need a decent size room to get most out of them.

What was the previous deal like.
They were 1299 before this and 999 a month or so ago. I haven't seen them cheaper. ? Thanks (edited)

Outstanding speakers. I'd love to comment but it seems all posts are reviewed, so here's one more for the Mod to review

I am looking for a new hifi system. Which amplified would get the most out of these please?

I've been looking at these.. they look amazing. But would probably have to upgrade everything else for these to sound the way they should.
What amp would people recommend for these to sound great.

Guess it would depend on what source you are using and your tastes. One of my biggest bugbares is saying one amp is superior to another with specific speakers.

I got the Sony STR-DN1080, is that good enough to handle these?

Unfortunately not, those ratings drop through the floor when running multiple speakers

Would these work well with a Yamaha a-s501 if I bi-wire them? (edited)

I know that amp. Always liked it - loads of inputs. It's unlikely to be 'wrong', but the amp would be at the very cheap end of what might suite these speakers. I'd do it...
