Fantastic price! Paid more for my P3s. Do they have a series 3 about to launch? :(

Had these for about 1 week then the left earcup/wire caused frequent audio drop outs. Likely a loose connection or something but sent them back anyway. And got the P7's instead!

Very comfortable and they do (both P5/P7) sound great.

Personally think B&W's are overrated.

How do the wireless versions measure up against these?

Abbey road studio use b&w to do critical listening of sound tracks and movies. .so what we listen to is calibrated on b&ws

I bought some P7s recently. I'd done SO much homework and testing of a huge amount of headphones, from regular store shelf sennheisers to odd magnetic planar things. Some had great controlled bass response, others really accurate soundstage, but it was the B&Ws that made me think 'good god, I like this music!' so I bought them on the spot. They just make really listenable headphones.

These are excellent headphones. The same internal components as the P7.

I have both and the Series 1 sound better.

Strongly disagree with this, I really dislike the original P5s and the drivers in the P7 and series 2 are very much refined.

I found the P2's to be muddy with exaggerated bass and lacked the refinement of the original, this despite over thirty hours of usage for the headphones to burn in.

Back to using the Series 1 for general use and the QC35's for travel.

I'd say they are overpriced. But not overrated. As others have said B&W do know how to make a good neutral-ish sounding headphone that would appeal to the average listener. And this is what these are. Not an audiophile grade technological show-off. £129 is probably a fair price for the quality style and sound mix they offer. Nowhere near worth the rrp.

I think there must be some variance in the units we tried- the pair I've listened to sounded cleaner through the mids and low end than the Series 1s that I've tried, and had a noticeable improvement in treble extension (albeit still with looser bass than the P7s and without the same sparkle in the treble, which is most likely down to the difference in housings). In fact my main issue with the original P5s was the lack of refinement, the sound quality never held up to the standards of a £200-£250 portable headphone when they retailed at that price.

For context I dislike the P5 I, hate the P3 I, love the P7s and have owned my pair for three years, and reasonably like the P5 II and P3 II.

I loved my P5 Is but I think they are playing up, definitely louder in one ear (no not going deaf, checked other cans).
