Id prefer to know what "minor cosmetic damage" actually means before ordering.

Don't fancy one turning up with scratches all vover the lid or even worst the screen.
#13
With the distance selling rules though, surely you can send it back if you aren't happy?
#14
good alternative if you can't get one at asda :)
#15
None left in asda unless you live in belfast.

Would also like to know what they mean by cosmetic damage.

Is that the Asda Living store in Belfast (York St)? Know how many they had?

It's the damage that the average Asda mong adolescent shopper does to it before returning it.

After nicking a credit card and making his purchase, he then connects straight up to the internet and downloads 20GB of porn along with 100GB of viruses. After jizzing all over the screen because of the porn and then hitting the keyboard repeatedly because the viruses have slowed it down to a crawl, he then packs it back up and returns it as "not working right".
Asda return it to Acer who then clean it up, (in all senses of the phrase "clean up"), and sell it on cheap as laptops with "minor cosmetic damage".

Stunning piece of fiction..... or is it? You're lucky they don't have a built-in webcam !

Unsure which branch it is, but according to asda customer services they had about 15 in stock.

I've bought 2 laptops dfrom this company & their Customer Service is great. They price matched an Asda offer that was on at the time. Then they upgraded the memory on another laptop for free, when I mentioned the spec wasn't up to much.

Probably can't return it if you are unhappy with the minor cosmetic damage. Only if the item is faulty or not as described. ;-)
#24
Really tempted by this offer, if only they had windows as the operating system.

I got mine in Asda Living, they had one out on display upstairs and had to ask for one from the storeroom.............very helpful of customer services, there's at least 3 that could be classed as Asda Belfast lol!

distance selling regs mean you can change your mind and don't even need a reason - i.e. if you want to go for this you've nothing to lose if you don't like it - just return it

just had this email back via acer about the manufactures warranty
Hello, Thank you for contacting Acer.

Regarding your enquiry,

Unfortunately this machine has been refurbished via Easy Computers and not by ourselves. This machine would not be warranted by the manufacturer and you would need to contact your retailer if you have any issues with it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Acer Direct and laptopsdirect.co.uk and buyitdirect are an appalling outfit.

I bought my Acer Netbook which died within the first week - so I sent it back. Then they said the replacement was out of stock but it wasn't - they'd just decided to put the price up £40 (checked the stock codes which matched). After a load of being passed around on the phone like a ****in tennis ball. I had to argue to get back a refund which included the postage on the original item.

Thoroughly disappointed. Don't bother shopping here.
