Yea I was providing the Tesco link so that peeps can pick up the club card points if they want. If I were to put Tesco Direct in the heading it would probably get cold.

using asus AI Charger might do the trick as its sorts out the supply the to the ipad 3 to enable charging.
Unless I am mistaken it doesn't have a USB port, it comes with a power supply instead. Not sure what that first review is on about!
Edit - Oh unless the power connector is USB, looks like it is.

If you have a network cable in a hotel room, you must be using it with a laptop in which case you can set the laptop as an access point for other devices to connect to it (?), of course the laptop needs to be powered all the time.
Does this come with it's own power adapter? (Saw that answered already)
There is a review on Maplin's product page that talks about it's use with Apple TV, I don't have one so didn't understand that either.
Seems to have LAN and WAN ports, is it for pass-through?
Could someone advise please?
Price seems fantastic compared to the normal rates, so heated.

If you can plug a laptop into your ethernet connection and get service then yes this should provide wireless. This device has is a very limited range though, so only good inside a room.

For me I will plug this into my Ethernet outlet upstairs, this will allow the kids to connect over wireless (iPads etc).

Theoretically, yes.
If you're looking for wifi coverage for further than a room or two then you may want to look at something a bit more powerful. You should be able to convert any normal wireless router into an access point (which will connect to your wired router with an ethernet lead) by following the instructions below:-

Yes you can use something like Connectify to use your laptop as a wifi AP but you may wish to use wireless devices without having to have your laptop on or you may wish to use wireless on your laptop so you don't need it connected to the Ethernet cable on the desk.

It's basically a wireless router, but a small one, marketed at the traveller who wants to share multiple devices over one ethernet connection in a hotel. As cheap to buy something not specifically marketed at hotel travellers IMHO

Reviews describe various use cases.
Or you could add this to a HomePlug to make it a wireless access point.
The BIG question though is what is practical range might be - I suspect its probably same-room-only.
Still, just £15 for a decent £25 device, with free delivery, counts as hot in my opinion.
It'll do most things you'd hope for any "wireless thing" to do for you.
