How is £45 for a rubbish bin a good deal?!
#4
Because Brabantia bins are very expensive?
#5
£45 for somewhere to put ur rubbish??
& this is a hot deal??
thats about £44 too much for me.
#6
Would rather buy this

half price £24.99 ok it's not as big but it's more or less the same thing..an expensive bin. You'll just have to empty it more often than the larger one, to be honest i'd rather empty mine more often rather than have a big bin full of rubbish in my house.
#7
good buy- 10 year no quibble guarantee- and i mean no quibble- excellent product and excellent company
#8
cheers OP, went for one

£45 for a bin!
are we in recession yet?
I dont think so...

You said it, expensive not good value. Who needs a 10yr guarantee, it's a bin, what could possibly go wrong that you couldn't fix?! lol
#11
They are expensive i must admit and the bags that go with them aren't cheap, but saying that i have never had a bag split. They have a good build quality hence the guarentee.
#12
Best build quality around hence the price. The cheaper steel ones you can get, ie the one mentioned earlier in this thread, dent and mark VERY easily.

Only problem with my Brabantia is that if you scrape leftover food into it, sometimes it catches on the plastic rim too easily. We have to give the lid a good scrub with bleach every week.

If you're going to get a stainless steel bin, get one of these. If you're after anything else...get a plastic one from Wilkinson's or a supermarket
#13
Or if you want chrome rather than "grey" then http://www.dunelm-mill.com/product/sale_Kitchen/54.htm £48.61 inc. delivery

Bought this one a few months back and the lid broke - Argos didn't want to know about it..

Better of with Brabantia, superb customer service..

Good price, voted hot.
#17
Do you have to use Brabantia bin liners with this bin ?
#18
No, any bin liner will do. Brabantia ones are "premium" if you see what i mean.

We just bung a regular black bin bag in there, or if we're feeling fruity a black bin back with a little draw string.
#19
Argh, just paid about 60 for chrome one a few weeks ago. The people laughing at £45 for this would probably have me commited.
#20
Excellent bin. Great aesthetics and superb quality.

This is a bargain price as they were retailing at £90+ most places.

I have had mine years and years. The lid mechanism failed, I sent an email. In the post 3 days later a whole new lid, no questions asked. Previous to this I got through 3 plastic argos/addis types around 10 each and no where near as smart as this.

If you value quality, want something that looks first class and will last a lifetime, then this is a bargain. If you are happy to make do with a cheaper alternative then thats fine too. Pays your money and takes your choice.

BARGAIN. HOT! Nice spot OP.

Voted hot. I knew we wouldn't get through the first page before someone whined "it's just a bin!". Makes you wonder whether they bother to decorate indoors - "it's just a wall!"

Matalan are flogging off 70 litre sized bins in glorious beige plastic for a fiver. Perhaps that might better suit some people's kitchens and sense of taste.
#22
Lol, fancy bins nowadays

We would have replaced it unless it was bought 200 days ago or something silly. You were probably dealing with one of the 16 year olds who aren't exactly the most intelligent people in the world.
I bought a black one when they were half price about 4 months ago and it's been fine, no marks or scratches on it at all.
Still a waste of money for a bin though, not exactly something to talk to your mates about.."guess what guys, i have a Brabantia bin!!!!"
#24
Voted hot, bought the same bin recently from ex-catalogue shop for £42.50(inc 2 packs of official bags) and well pleased with it. Brilliant quality and will look perfect in years long after the cheap argos/tesco ones have gone rusty.
#25
We bought a 50 litre Brabantia touch bin nearly a year ago and it looks and works as good as the day we got it. We buy 20-packs of the strong black bin liners with the drawstrings from the pound shop and they fit perfectly. At 5p per bag, you can empty your trash every day if you want and if you think £45 is way too much for a stylish, high-quality bin that is going to be permanently on display in your house, then just buy the bags and hang one from a hook or an old nail on your wall.

You might eventually find a cheaper price than this but it would take a lot of looking. Pretty hot deal!

Bit big for my kitchen, shame they dont have the 30 litre.

I get an error when trying to add single item to basket:
"Your request cannot be completed, as one or more of the products you wish to purchase are not available in the quantity you requested."

i am guessing they have sold out or the deal is expired? anyone else getting the same thing?
#28
still no joy in ordering one :x
