I shouldn't take the mick really, I've just got a Dualit toaster to replace my £5 Tesco Value one...
#8
Why is this being voted cold? It's a good price for a quality bin, or do we only vote hot for cheap tat and consoles these days? :?

Incidentally, Brabantia bins have a 10 year warranty, my lid broke on my bin after about 7 years and they replaced it free of charge. I'd definitely buy another if I needed to.
#9
would"nt pay that for a bin
#10
Hasn't this offer 'bin' posted before? ! !

Some people are just clueless it seems.
I'll be sure to only post cheap tat from now on :-)

Errrr....yes.
I think Brabantia might have gone out of business by now if not don't you?

For your information (as you appear to have been living in a cave), yes people do pay a lot of money for these bins because they are stylish, high quality and will last a lifetime. Never mind, you carry on with you plastic swing bin but what i dont get is people voting cold on what is a good price. I woudn't pay £50k for a ferrari but if that same car was up for grabs at £25k then that's a hot deal. I still wouldn't pay it.... but you can't knock the deal. Some people don't seem to get that you are voting on the deal - not whether you like the product or not.

oh and stop shouting, it doesn't win arguments.

I posted a similar bin a few weeks ago. It had so many cold votes that I ended up spamming it. Yes £64 is expensive for a bin.....but some people pay £200 for a car and others pay £20,000 for a car. Each to there own. As this bin is almost 1/2 price then it's a good deal. I hate those people who "don't seem to get that you are voting on the deal - not whether you like the product or not." The only thing the majority are interested on here are games, DVD's, CD's and anything else that is under £25. It's as if anything that costs more than £25 is not hot, regardless of whether it is the cheapest available or not. I begin to wonder why I ever bother to post a deal as the cold miserable trolls come out to play.

yes these are the best bins - trouble is the price seems to have jumped right up recently.
I paid £45 for a 50litre a year ago (with a free 3 litre inside) from amazon. Then saw them in Asda at a similar price. So whilst this is a good price at the moment, I don't think it represents good value due to the large recent price increases (price of metal having shot up in the last year? - but it's just crashed down to almost zero so will Brabantia be dropping prices soon?).

Agreed, there have been better deals on these before.
Thanks for the reasoned response :-)

I imagine people saying "its a bin" prefer to have an old carrier bag off of a door handle.

However as others have said i picked up a 50l for around £50 from Dunhelm earlier in the year.

ok, the reason why i voted this cold and other people probably have is that at the end of the day its a bin. it has one purpose,a plastic bin that is £10 or a stainless steel bin which is£20-£25 can do just as good a job as this bin. what im trying to say is you dont realy get the value for money when a product that is a lot cheaper can do the same job as this bin. i dont think that it can be justified spending that much more money and getting the same end result, for eample opting for a tv with a greater price tag will usually give you better spec and picture quality than a cheaper set, thus a more positive result for the extra money spent. hot uk deals is about good value for money, in my interpretation this is not, that is why i have voted cold.

Yawn.
All bins do not do the same job as this bin. Your analogy for a television applies to this product as well. The same can apply for socks, cars, mp3 players...EVERYTHING!
Like i said, if they were not good bins and worth the money (especially when reduced like this) then nobody would buy them and Brabantia would long since have gone out of business.
Just because you value quality televisions more than quality bins does not make it cold.
I bid you good day. :)

No, they also make laundry bins like this 50litre one:

A bin is its function, what it is is a major feature of any room you put it in. You don't eat a steak with a plastic knife and fork from a paper plate, you don't put a £10 black plastic bin from Argos on a newly fitted £3k kitchen. Quality costs.

Because this one is much better quality. I can't be bothered to explain all the reasons why - look at the reviews. Show me the £20 stainless steel bin of which you speak and i might give you a couple of reasons to be going along with.

Not true. I'd be willing to wager that Brabantia are much more well known for their bins and sell more of them than they do anything else. Search for Brabantia on here and you will see many, many bin deals that people have snapped up because of the quality.

Wow you really are brain dead.

Ok...
1. That's a B&Q pedal bin! The differences are so many and that product is so inferior i cannot even begin to explain to someone like you. It's like comparing a Rolls Royce and a Rover. I'll give you a few straight off the bat shall i just to keep you happy...1) its a PEDAL bin. The mechanism for these invariably breaks within months. 2) Pedal bins flap the lid up and clatter against the wall - they are noisy. 3) It doesn't have a flat back so that it fits snug against the wall. 4) It simply looks cheap and nasty 5) The quality of the metal will be inferior and will mark/dent more easily..... I could go on but i really can't be bothered.

2. Your second link doesnt work...so i'll refrain from analysing that one. In any case i'm well aware that there are cheaper and inferior stainless steel bins out there. What's your point?

3. There are not other bins out there that will do the same job! To use your TV analogy again. That's like me saying a Matsui TV is every bit as good as a Sony because they are both TVs! Essentially it does the same thing but one is of much, much better quality than the other. The same goes for EVERY product out there. What don't you get about that....seriously?

4. Well done, that's a good deal - post it up. It's not a deal that was there yesterday though as Amazon change their prices quite often. I don't proclaim the deal to be the best Brabantia deal the world has ever known - i've said as much a few posts up if you care to pay attention. BUT at the time of posting it was (probably still is) the best price for this particular model. It's a substantial saving on the RRP and someone who might be looking for a Brabantia (there are many whether you like it or not) might find it useful.

The problem with people like you on this site is that you just vote cold because you don't like something as a product or dont understand why people would. Personally i only vote cold if that product is....
a) available cheaper elsewhere
b) is known to be of poor quality / has bad reviews
c) is being sold by a company that has a bad reputation

If i'm indifferent to a deal (ie. it's not for me for whatever reason but it doesnt fit into the criteria above) then i just leave it alone - I don't vote. I just wish you and others would do the same but i guess that's way to much to ask.

Please don't bore me with any more of your bilge...it's obvious you do not have the capacity to comprehend a word I and others are saying on this subject.

you realy like your bins! by "others" i think you mean the 3 or 4 people who agree with you in this post! i paid £25 for my stainless steel bin 4 years ago and its fine everything works and finish is still as good. as i've been trying to say people can justify spending more money to get a better quality tv than a bin, because its a bin! i found this review on amazon about one of your beloved Brabantia bins:

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Design and Ill Conceived, 21 April 2008
By M. Carroll "chandler_lewis" - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)

I bought one of these last Christmas, just a few months ago. The lid is fastened by a molded pin that projects from a plastic collar that fits into the lid assembly. When I first saw this, I though "no way will that last five minutes" - and I was right. My bin lid no longer shuts.

Worse still, the plastic insert that fits into the lid doesn't have flush edges. The edges are very heavily recessed so that they get bunged up will all kinds of waste. For something that's designed (Ha!) to carry waste, that a bit odd. It's very unhygenic and is a pain to clean because it's too small to get a cloth in there. You have to gouge it out with a kitchen knife.

The molded latch pin was a bad idea, and was just done for cheapness. They could easily have used a screw-in, replaceable pin instead. The lack of practical design quite frankly amazes me in a bin that costs £89.99 which is what I paid for mine.

It's clear to me that Brabantia doesn't make bins that are any better than anyone else's. They just charge a lot more for them.

Do yourself a favour and go and buy a cheap plastic one. When that breaks after a few months, you won't feel ripped off, will you!

Care to mention the other two FIVE star reviews on that link? Thought not, i'll do it for you.....

The king of bins!, 23 Oct 2007 By Jennifer Anniston "Binki" (England UK) - See all my reviews

Never thought I'd be reviewing a 'bin' ....how tame things have become ! Anyhoo - had been making do with a round cheaper bin and hadnt realised how awful it was until this one arrived! It is only 40 litres, but is like a Tardis ! Takes a lot of rubbish and is really easy to empty - no struggling with trying to coax the bin bag out.Looks swish, is easy to keep clean and the touch top is really handy.
The space saving shape is good, but has a small handle at the back which stops it from laying flush against the units, a small irk, but overall I love my new bin! Note to self .....get out more....

brabantia fan, 24 Feb 2008 By S. HOPE (devon, uk) - See all my reviews

I bought this item specifically because it was manufactured by Brabantia (had previously bought a potato peeler and a washline made by them and was very happy with both!). The price of their products is excessive, but the quality is definitely there and I guess thats what you pay for in the long run. The bin is a pleasing shape (which is what caught my eye initially) and the touch top is great when your fingers are messy - a quick tap with the back of your hand and the lid opens. Holds a large amount which is also a boon. So if you can get past the price (and next year you will still be enjoying using the bin when you have fogotten the cost!) you will not be sorry you bought it.

Any muppet can find a single bad review about any product. Well done.

Errrr...make that 7 or 8 people....you really like twisting the facts don't you.

As i said before, you value TV's others dont. Some people won't care if their TV is 1080p or 100Mhz others (like you) do and will pay accordingly. The same applies for bins, radios, garden rakes, pillows...need i go on? Seriously what don't you understand about that?

We don't all like the same things that you do! Has that sunk in yet?

1 bad review in 3! in which its questions the build quality!
