Hot, these are normally double the price. If only they had the 40 litre semi circle ones at this price and I'd grab one!

Great price. Just wish it was the matt version. The shiny one must show a lot of marks.

I'm not going to say that this is not a good deal but Amazon did this deal on boxing day for £25 which made me very happy.
#9
Good price just a shame it is not matt steel..

Just checked Makro catalogue (2 July - 15 July). This is listed @ £49.99 + VAT making it £58.74. So this deal trounces that and includes delivery!

Where did you get £29.99?

Thanks,
Mark

BTW - even if its stainless steel - really easy to keep is looking new with a little baby oil! Works wonders on all stainless steel appliances!

Its how they clean them in showhomes etc.

Going to get me one of these i think!

Dunelm have the 30L matt steel finish for £48 at the moment. Around £70 everywhere else!

BHS had loads on Brabantia offers on too recently. 5L pedal bins for £12!

indeed, it's just a bin to put rubbish in, i can afford 500 of these but i wouldn't ever pay 45 quid for a bin.

The impression I get is that it's kind of like a BMW. Sure you could buy a Toyota and get the same results but people would rather buy the BMW and show off to their friends :) We've got one of those flappy bins that probably cost less than £5 and no one comments on it when they come over. Boo hoo :p

don't get me wrong i'm not the kind of person that buys a car just to get me from a to b, i buy a car to pee all over other cars but still 45 quid for a bin is a bit silly. i paid 25 quid for one at argos when it was half price just to see if it was actually worth 50 quid in the first place, sure as hell wasn't!

no one comments on my bin, its not something you go and stand around while you talk, its a place you put rubbish in and leave alone.

Agreed. Sadly Brabantia deals are one of the most popular deals on here......
Don't get me wrong people I like buying stuff that's not cheap tat but it has to justify the price tag. I got some Le Creuset stuff on here last year and it was a great deal even though I could have got some cheap pans for less. Le Creuset stuff cooks much better and will last a lot longer than cheap pots and pans. I just don't get what a Brabantia bin does that a cheap flip to bin wouldn't do for £40 less other than look a bit prettier.

I bought this during the £25 Xmas Amazon thing. I too wouldn't spend £££ on a bin - my previous one was £10 from Argos. I generally work according to the addage that cheap things are usually more expensive in the long run.

Brabantia have a 10 yr guarantee & will replace parts. So that's £4.50 a year. I prefer this rather than buying a new one every couple of years as with cheap plastic ones. Seems more environmentally friendly to repair and extend life. The spring lid does save the annoyance of trying to get waste food through a swing lid. I've a chrome one and wouldn't concern yourself about fingerprints.

Oh and I freecycled my old bin ;)

I think £25 is probably a reasonable price.

Brabantia customer service is excellent. I already had a brushed steel 50l bin which i love but i used cillit bang on it and it came up in little 'rusty spots'. I phoned brabantia and told them i had used a 'general purpose' cleaner and they sent me a brand spanking new bin. no questions asked. (i did have to email them a picture of the bin). My sis is now very happy with my old bin (which was 18 months old)!!!

Would they send you a brand new bin if they were really that expensive to make?

Thanks for this - nice bargain. Anyone noticed that there seem to be two bins here (a 3 litre one as well)?

I guess when you have spent thousands on a fitted kitchen it's not that expensive.

I had a cheap plastic Asda bin before this, I wouldn't go back.

I bought the fingerprint proof one from Amazon at Christmas and it was an excellent deal for an excellent product.

You might change you mind if the opening spring had broken - after all how many times a day do you use a bin - quite a few.

Try getting a new bit for a £25 bin from Argos rather than having to throw the whole thing out? I don't think so....:whistling:

Yes but a fitted kitchen costs what it costs and it serves a purpose. This bin is a bin and by all account they're not that well made given that everyone gets great warranty service when the big breaks :whistling:

& bin doesn't serve a purpose? Similarly a kitchen is just a kitchen. :whistling:

What I'm saying is that a bin is a bin. If you spend 1 pound or 50 pounds it holds rubbish just the same. A properly designed kitched can add value to your house and make your kitchen a much better place to be.

Maybe, but some of us rather like our houses and kitchens to look nice (indeed, as you say, a much better place to be) - and the way we achieve that is by putting nice looking, well-designed things in them, rather than cheap bins that just make it look like a junkyard.
