how many 400mm*400mm tiles do i need to cover 18 ft * 20 ft area? please
#8
I used these to make a base for my shed, and for the money they are great!!! cheap as chips now as well!

18ft by 20ft is 5.4meters by 6 meters so roughly 32.4 sq meters. that would be 13.5 slabs by 15 slabs. in total you would want 210 slabs plus a couple extra to allow for breaks etc.

224? i think
#11
oh, i round up on all sides, technically the edge tiles could be cut to do 2 edges but i didn't do that as i couldnt be bothered.

use proper measurements :-P

driveway! lol

having put these down for my patio, i really dont think they will be good enough for a drive way unless you get a really good base.

they are a right pain to get level as they come in different thickness's and aren't flat

Did my patio a couple of weeks ago in the most awful of weather, meant I had to bring the whole thing up again and re-do it. Looks great now though. I considered these slabs but they do look very tacky, great though if you need a utility area.

28mm is too thin to put a car on, they will crack.

nice find, thanks

Anyone know if these would be suitable for chucking a shed on top of - for use as a base. Bit concerned with them only being 28mm.

Yeah, just break 'em up and use as hardcore. Then lay some proper 35 or 50mm flags for a nice sound base :)

Any use for a shed base that will contain some heavier items...maybe not the weight of a car right enough

what about for just a path instead of having stones that can damage shoe heels? do i need to dig and put anything under before laying these slabs or just lay in on top of the stones (you know those small stones, for driveways?)

thanks..

whats the normal price for a paving stone? that would help people no end!

You will need between 15 and 24 (rounding up, so you may have some left over) depending on the size of your grass (!); 6x4 or 7x5.

These things are heavy; 15 of them will probably weigh about 75-100 kilos!
