Nice car, horrible wheels.

This will no doubt go cold because it doesn't offer RAC discount or Quidco. Or is under £5.

Not sure why all the negative comments ?.Bought the wife a Focus TDCI sport 3 years ago (same engine but a lesser spec car) and paid similar money for that.Having never been a fan of Fords, have of say this car seriously impressed me.Its fast, quiet, very economical, drives really well and servicing, tax and insurance are all cheap.Would have loved the chance to buy a Titanium for this price at the time.Nice find H&R added

why are so many people complaining? This is a fantastic deal. Try getting the same spec in a Golf for that sort of cash and dont give me the golf is better than the focus rubbish the golf is one of the dullest cars ive ever sat in or driven.

Well done great find.

You really need to read more if that's the funniest thing you've ever read. Golfs and Focuses are all incredibly dull, but reliable and reasonably cheap to run cars that do the job. The Golf really is not better than the Focus in anything but residuals, if you think otherwise then you are fooling yourself.

Anyway, this is a hot deal, despite the number of dullards making ridiculous comments on here ("£20K lol....").

The point is a golf is better than a focus. Just park them next to each other. Drive them and feel the difference, the turbo lag on the ford motors is terrible, boosts unpredictably and the interior is tacky.

Only good focus is a RS.

This thread is full of really inane and useless comments, some from people who didn't even seem to read the thread!

It's not the most exciting car in the world, but so what? Looks like a good deal to me. There's the added bonus on the deal not having the car equaivalent of a Littlewoods code - the scrappage allowance!

Heat (if it wasn't expired) and rep

A lot of people look down on the Mondeo, but it's actually a very good car. I've been looking around at alternatives to my A6 and the Mondeo Titanium X is one of the few none 'prestige' (whatever that means!) cars that really felt well built and solid.

I agree that the interiors aren't the most exciting, but exciting gets boring after a few years anyway. Just one comment though. The Titanium isn't the top spec as has been stated. The Titanium X is.

Ive driven the New Mondeo Titanium quite a few times as someone I know has one, much better build than the older version, less turbo lag but its still there. As an alternative to an A6 thats just madness.

I would say the interior of the mondeo is far more radical than the Audi, but that tends to make it look a bit tacky. Big difference between an interior thats dull and say the Audis understated interior.
#27
have any of you slagging the focus off actually driven one? even jezza loves the focus. it handles like a car 3x its price. its regarded very highly by professional drivers as a "driver's car". i've driven loads of different cars from cheap nad cheerful astras to top of the range BMWs and mercs and the focus is by far my favourite to drive as it does exactly what you tell it to

This is a great price for, less face it, a good car.
I have a TDCI 2 litre Zetec, and no complaints.

For the 'Golf vs Focus brigade, look at the reviews from those in the know.

Some of the comments on here seem mad to me, but then again it's one person's opinion against another. I've had lots of cars, including Golf (GTi), Integra Type-R, Civic Coupe and Civic Type-R, but 18 months ago (after too many points on my license!) I decided to go for something more "sedate". I ended up buying a Focus 1.8 Zetec Climate. I can quite honestly say that it's the best car I've ever had. Smooth ride, quiet, fuel-efficient, and looks fine (as far as I'm concerned!). Mine's a 57 plate, so it's the "old" model, but I prefer the look of that to the "new one" with the "Mondeo" grille on the front. It's all about horses for courses I suppose, but it seems like a hot deal to me, especially when Ford (who are SUPPOSED to be struggling in the current economic climate) have been INCREASING their prices recently. Interestingly...my wife's been looking at a Fiesta Titanium. On December 1st (when VAT was dropped to 15%), it was £400 MORE than it was on the previous Friday, when VAT was 17.5%. Ford (AFAIC) are playing some sneaky games...

Drive the deal only get to £13896. This is a HOT deal.

Got the older Focus myself (Ghia trim) and it is one very nice car for the money. Yes, I could have got a Civic, or a Golf, or some other car for another £10k... but for what I paid, nothing else comes close for the price and the great drive :)

This is not expired.

Wouldnt argue with value for money, this is no golf / audi / honda etc. But for the money you cant go wrong.

A golf is better because VW is a prestige brand don't you know...?! :whistling:

Golf's are over-rated massively, ask anyone who can actually look past the badge and isn't blinkered into thinking the VW's are reliable and "posh" :-D
#33
It might be bland and boring, but Ford make good drivers cars, thats what counts in my book.
I don't know if its H or C so wouldn't have voted.
#34
A lot of money for something that moves you from A to B....

Just been to the link ant at the bottom it says...

List Price: £13795.00
Price: £12750.00

Does that mean it's only £1000 saving??? Confused!!

so so so true......

when my some here i am sure would say "crappy" fiat went in for some work after an accident i got a golf GTI courtesty car.

brand new.

what a letdown, i was really looking forward to driving it, but it was heavy, uninspiring, not all that comfortatble etc etc.

Fords may not have the snobbery value of some cars but looking beyond that there is nowt wrong with them. This may not be the most exciting car but not all cars have to be ferraris.
#37
Irrespective of whether you like this car or not, this is a significant saving. Mind you anybody who pays the list price on a brand new (mainstream) car these days probably needs their head examined...

Have some heat and rep!

"Only"?
Many of the posts on this site are for savings of pence!
This represents at least an 7.2% saving. £1000 is a lot of beer money!

TO MANY PEOPLE ON THIS SITE HAVE THERE HEAD UP THERE A**E. good find nothing the matter with fords

I've driven Focuses exactly like this one and a couple of 1.9 TDI (105) Golfs. Although the VW has a better quality interior and has a better image, the Ford is a much better drive with nicely weighted controls and the engine is very very smooth with no turbo lag. The VW on the other hand has a terribly vauge gear shift (IMO) and the engine is noitceably slower and noiser than the Fords.

I think there is an error on the site, 1.8 TDCI Titanium Focuses have never been £13795 and the Ford price list clearly states £19,545.
