2013 model should be this price

Nah they should give them away to hotukdeals members (and throw in a packet of custard creams, this tea is abit wet).

Personally I think this is the better buy for that price as it's basically the same thing, although 16GB, but with a Micro SD slot

I am looking for 3G tablet, but seems quite expensive except HP slate, any recommendation , also It is possible to run viber or whats app on WIFI only tablets ?

I am planning to buy this one but not sure is it the old model or not, but its seems cheapest in 3G tablets range after HP

Having made the same decision I bought a hd7 when they were even cheaper last Xmas.

The hd7 IMHO is a nexus v1.5 as its same resolution as nexus 7 2012 but has front and rear cameras and microsd slot and made by the same company :)

Been looking for a tablet and was close to getting the Nexus 7 but the hd7 does look good and the extra storage is useful.

wow excellent price! heat...
great tablet

Heres a comparison of the two.

Sorry the offer is for the older 2012 model. schoolboy error. As its the 2012 model then its no better than avvi who have been offering at this price for the last six months.

The 2013 model of this is due to be upgraded, so expect heavy discounts on 2013 model. Dont think its a good deal and would save your money.

Pretty much the same tablet as the nexus, Only real difference is the 3G connectivity and the fact that the Nexus runs 4.4.3. The Nexus 7 3G is also good, But for the price I think that one on Amazon isn't bad at all :)

Yes its a good tablet and phone, battery life is very good. Its slower than that memo hd 7 as pointed out here http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/ipad-tablets-and-ereaders/tablets/asus-memo-pad-hd-7-tablet-16-gb-blue-21449724-pdt.html?awc=1599_1403205756_4359972f515b03f9c7bc9619355b9023&srcid=369&xtor=AL-1&cmpid=aff~HotUKDeals~Communities%20%26%20UGC&istCompanyId=bec25c7e-cbcd-460d-81d5-a25372d2e3d7&istItemId=qqpxmxaq&istBid=t

It IS possible to run whatsapp on wi-fi-only tablets. You need to assign a working mobile number to it, but it can be done. I did it when my daughter went pack-packing in January. Google is your friend. :-)
IMHO the HP Slate is called that because the screen is so dull and grey. Asus Memopad is a great little device with a great IPS screen for the money, especially at £100. I agree with earlier comment that it is a kind of Nexus 7 1.5. The micro SD slot is worth its weight in gold, especially if you are away from home for long periods without wi-fi. It has a glary screen, but so do plenty of more expensive bits of kit.

Originally I couldn't recommend the 2012 Nexus 7 enough, but now mine has slowed to a crawl. Things got better when Google implemented the Trim command but again it's slowed down again on KitKat.

Not voted either way.

agree with MrSpoon.
my Nexus 7 is/was good but it slow these day... lotta milage..

personally think Tegra Note 7 is the way to go it has hdmi out and SD card slot... unless you need the 3g stuff...
#20
Not a bad price but a bit slow these days - android web browsers seem to need some grunt.
#21
It's definitely a good deal - but yes I do think they're going to need to update the tablet at some point, to provide something a bit nippier.

Only 1GB Ram though?
Seriously? What's the point in using a top notch processor if you're going to bottleneck it with minuscule amounts of RAM?

If you're talking about the tegra note there's no bottleneck, it's rapid!!! Tegra definitely knew what they were doing!

good price but this is now showing its age, better off with a 2013 model for a better experience, and longevity, even the LG gad is good and little more expensive.

as the saying goes you get what you pay for
#30
All the staff last night insisted price was £129.99 even after they checked the deal online.reseved one today for £99.99.shame on you ARGOS wasting my time and petrol.

How on earth can this be a good deal?!? the Nexus 7 2012 is almost 2 years old!
You're much better off buying an Advent Tegra Note 7 which easily beats the Nexus 7 2012 in specs for the same price (Link Below)

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/ipad-tablets-and-ereaders/tablets/advent-vega-tegra-note-7-tablet-16-gb-21812495-pdt.html

I own the Tegra Note 7 and a Nexus 2013 and in general use the Tegra Note 7 is actually snappier in day to day use than the Nexus 7 2013 and has a stylus FWIW. So it will no doubt blow away the Nexus 7 2012.
The Tegra Note does have a few weaknesses to hit the price - 1 gig RAM, 1280x800 display and build is not as nice as the Nexus 2013 which is more down to personal opinion. But on the plus side, it has a micro sd card slot, micro hdmi and a stylus.

Same thing happened to me. Slowed down to a crawl last month.

All sorted now, though. I reset the device last night and now it's as smooth as it was when I first bought it.
All my apps automatically reinstalled themselves too.

I loved my nexus 7 when I first got it, but not so fond of it longer term. I've found the usb port to be really loose first one went back as it stopped charging altogether and after a year of heavy use the replacement is also starting to go. Suppose I might need to get a NFC :(

The speaker is fairly quiet and only one camera is a pita, but if you wanted a nexus 7 then 99 is a very good price.

Yeah must be customer specific. Just picked one of these up for my mom and would have been gutted if I had missed a couple of quid back :p
