Damn - this online shopping is costing me
#2
Saab residuals always were dire, likely to be even worse now they are extinct!
#3
1. Thought they were going bust??
2. How much extra for the alloy wheels, Leather, metalic paint etc.......wow look now the car is £28,000 and if i sell it next year i'll get?..? JACK ALL
#4
Nice looking car but as has been said, terrible residuals. They had a great deal on the base Lancer Evo last year (£19,995 on the road), dunno if they are still doing any promo's on these. Worth looking into (imo).
#5
amazing deal, strange thing is I don't think the roof on these work. I have have seen tons of these on hot sunny days and they NEVR have the roof down?:whistling:

Seems like a lot of car for the cash.

Great Deal!
There should be additional dealer discounts available too, making it an absolute bargain,
#8
but possibly no warranty
#9
£2,000 scrappage to take off too, if you have a banger handy.

but possibly no warranty

could be rescued by as early as tomorrow(see link), so no warranty worries, only thing to worry about then would be be amazing price:w00t:

do they accept paypal???

This is a fantastic car and worth every penny dont let negative comments put you off i have had three convertibles so far and now driving the saIoon (just started a family) think you will find that the convertible version is based on a seperate chassis to the normal saloon which is based on the same chassis as the vectra and many other cars, also you will find that within the next few days Saab will thankfully shed GM best thing they could do as it looks like Spyker will take them over. warrantys on new saabs are not an issue as the parts are still GM parts and will be covered by GM as GM are still functioning only just though.
#16
I knew I should of waited before buying mine, coulda saved enough to buy a Kia Rio, oh nevermind....
#17
can someone tell me what use a convertible is in Britain
#18
Terrible deal due to the company being wound down. Its not a good price really all things considered. Also as pointed out its not even cheap considering the price once you have added the essential options on.

Yeah I totally agree, although it must be a fault with all UK convertibles not just this!

I did see one MX5 with it's roof down, it almost looked a bit odd because I was so used to seeing them with the roof up!

such as? its got everything - i think that post about alloys was mis-guided?

LMAO see quote from their website!! Do people really go topless in winter??!!!

Nothing raises the spirits like driving with the top down on a crisp winter’s day. With the sun shining, the air fresh and the dual-zone automatic climate control turned right up, it is quite sensational. Particularly when you consider that you can now drive away the 9-3 Convertible with a breathtaking £6,595 off the list price
#22
Bought 25 of them, to sell on ebay.
#23
A good deal if you are looking for a new convertible. I am a Saab fan, but new cars all lose value pretty quickly. I would only buy a new car if it was a relaltively cheap one as you don't feel the depreciation so much. percentage wise.

The winter is the best time to buy a convertible, though Linear is the base spec on Saabs.

Personally I dont think a 30% discount is a good deal from a manufacturer which is being wound down. There will be no warranty and no dealership network moving forward.

I just got a 40% discount on a brand new pre reg phaeton plus a decent trade in and thats on a VW. This is not that good a deal IMO on a car from a company that effectively no longer exists. Also I would need to physically see the car and have it in my hand before even consider handing over money.

No buyer has been found for Saab GM are getting rid of the brand altogether, closing the factory closing the dealership network.

Dunno. My car has 4 doors, and enough room in the back to fit people bigger than a midget, is longer than this and cost £5K less. Even more for your money.

Tempted but no quidco :-(

It's not a great car, being based on the old vectra and a bit long in the tooth now, but it's a heck of a lot of car for this money. My MX-5's list price was this much! Convertibles are great all year round if it's dry - I'll have the roof off mine today. Those knocking them have either not tried them or are just envious.

Warranty, parts and service will all continue regardless of who takes over Saab, or indeed if no one does. Underwritten by GM.

Nah, I'll keep me 305z

Not bad but better value second-hand.

I'm jealous now- the Phaeton is sensational
#31
Despite them no longer accepting GMcard points as a part purchase - the final date that dealerships can request the code is 31st January 2010!

If you could get this through as a card holder - then a further £2500 off! LOL

Now I would be tempted! :-)

Oh how I laugh at comments about residuals etc. Imagine if we did that on every deal. My 28" Sony tv cost me £895 9 years ago - its worth less than £20 now:-D

f I was buying a new car I would want to buy one that's worth more than 50% after a year. Also doubt you'd get £20 for an ancient Sony, however much it cost you!

LOL yes it is CACK, only a fool would spend over 30k on a VW. Especially with the Phaeton costing between 40-75 grand, you'd have to be clueless about cars to buy one.

You could buy a Ferrari for that money.
#38
Top car, got a 9-5 as well a Caddy. This is a great find. I do hope Saab can make it through the uncertainty.

To be honest, I'd actually take that as a recommendation. If you want truly biased opinions, Top Gear is where you go! :-D
