#2

#3
Me 2... It's hard to stop me clicking that button to add it to basket, but as someone with a MacBook, Vista Laptop and iMac sitting here, I have no need! Not unless anyone wants a ****** Acer Laptop a MacBook and an iMac for £843.61? =P

I love Apple but I know if I buy something now they'll bring out a new one... tommorow! lol!

Next new Macs are coming in January, and they will be desktop only.
#12
for those looking for it cheaper just buyt it at an airport - or get someone passing through to do so.

Save 17.5% right off the top!
#13
reduce it another £40(or more) if you sell the free printer they are doing at the mo, on Amazon or eBay
#14
Well, you wouldn't actually save 17.5%; you'd save about 14.9%, since VAT is obviously value added tax, not value taken away.

Anyhows, it's a decent price and I'd love to get one myself, but I've had my MacBook for less than a year and just can't justify getting a new one when this one is serving me well. Hmmm, I may just treat myself to some extra RAM and a bigger, faster hard disk this Christmas to keep my MacBook ticking along nicely.

Thats a really good price. Might even get another 15% chopped off if your a student ;)

LOOOL, only mac zealots would think paying almost £900 for such an underpowered laptop was a good deal.
#17
voted cold, as usual with apple products stupidly overpriced.
#18
Wouldn't bother with quidco and apple, I've been waiting nearly 2 years for some cashback to be payed. Its tracked, validated and everything, they just won't pay!
#19
Cold, as the spec for the price is terrible.

Dell will do far greater value for money.

But will it run Leopard (legitimately)?
#22
Its £816.63 with educational discount (another 8% off)..... hmmmmmm.....
#23
Why is Mac better over a Windows PC? Surely you are paying more for software, hardware and have more limited support.
#24
Me Wanty.

Damn economic crisis. Good price even if I'm dreaming.
#25
I love Apple computers. I've used them for years but, they could virtually give this MacBook away and I wouldn't buy it. It has no FireWire port and that is essential for me.

It is a good price so I won't vote the deal cold but, no FireWire = no deal for me. :-(

P.S. - Before anyone tells me that the MacBook Pro has a FireWire port I already know that but the MacBook Pro is too big for me to carry around.

The point being your paying for the quality of the build, the OS and the way it just works.

I currently have a Dell XPS and the macbooks kicks its ass. Purely because of the underlying OS..

Unix based the macs have far greater performance for less power required... why do you think professionals in the design and software development build with Macs and not windows machines? for fashions sake?

I will be buying the macbook pro as soon as poss.. leaving windows forever.

Dell XPS 1530 for sale ;)

nearly 900 quid for that spec? you could get an acer ferrari for that kinda moolah!

how to make a business:

-Buy a £350 laptop
-Squash it down and paint it with sliver
-Glue the battery in so it cannot be replayced (Profitttt!)
-Stick a fruit on the top
-add £450 to the price and.. bingo! Idiots will now flock to your company! :whistling:

Also, not to mention:

The great customer service which you'll be getting with the Acer

The quality of hardware will be superior with Acer

You'll have a really good OS (Windows) with Acer

The resale value with the Acer will be absolutely fantastic

There is a less likelihood to get a virus with the Acer

You won't need to pay extra money for the software you'll require - such as you do on a Mac

A cool and slick machine - ohhh yer, everyones always wanted an Acer
Sony Vaio then

But then you'd be paying the same as you would for an Apple :w00t: :-D

And even then:

You will have Windows

Open to viruses

Resale value (better than Acer deffinetly) cause Sony is good in terms of brand

Still be paying for apps

Customer service - never experienced them thus can not comment on how well

My 2.4ghz MacBook arrived on Wednesday, it is a little bit sexy to say the least. That cost me £1,070 through their business store. I'm just relieved the saving today isn't bigger than the one I made otherwise I'd be kicking myself.

*Sigh*

Voting cold because you think Mac's are overpriced?! Stupid. I don't vote your Branston Baked Beans cold because I prefer Heinz! This website is about the best deal and right now (Unless you are a student this is the best deal)

And there is no point in the whole war against Mac's... they are simply more bug-free, easier to use and safer than windows and everything just works.

Good news for mac fanboyz! Apple is now recommending all its users install antivirus software! In fact, not just one antivirus program but multiple antiviruses :D

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7760344.stm

In a note posted on its support site in late November, Apple said it wanted to "encourage" people to use anti-virus to stay safe. The support note recommends that Mac owners install one or more of three anti-virus products.

Advice on the site said: "Apple encourages the widespread use of multiple antivirus utilities so that virus programmers have more than one application to circumvent, thus making the whole virus writing process more difficult."

No more security through obscurity. The only reason macs haven't had many viruses is that the virus writers haven't been bothered to go after the tiny proportion of people who use macs.
