Saw these on offer today and prefer these to Heinz cos there is less juice and more beans. Thought I would stock up on a few tins - with this credit crunch it might be all I will be eating soon!!

I don't buy this brand, but isn't this about normal price?
#2
Best beans i've found. Sauce in them tastes yummy!
#3
These are normally on 2 for 1 - otherwise I buy them from homebargains for this price - but still a good price for some decent tasting beans (god I cannot believe im talking about what beans i eat...)

Worst thing is, when I'm on one of my rants about the declining quality of HUKD deals (i.e. every day), I tend to joking say "5p off a tin of beans" as the example of a naff deal.

And here we are. :|

Morrisons are also doing the Branston beans with sausages 97p buy one get one free

It used to be but even these have seen price increases over the last few months:x

I now get my beans from Booker, 24 tins of ES beans (taste the same as these surprisingly) for £4.20.

Bring on the Branston

Anyone remember the baked beans price wars of the mid nineties?

They went down to 2p a can then one supermarket started crediting shoppers 2p for 'buying' cans.

Beans on toast is my favourite meal - sad but true.
Heinz baked beans have 51% beans and 33% tomatoes.
Branstons have less at 50% and 30% respectively for their newest tins (bought from Morrisons last week).
Both taste great though.
#10
Brought these last time around @ tesco 1.99 BOGOF so will stock up again.

Just steer clear of their spaghetti, it tastes vile.

Very, very true:-D

Maybe if Branson feed all his airline passengers’ these:w00t: he could cut down on fuel usage Hot air does rise after all:whistling:

Cold, cold, cold, cold, cold - I come on here to look for a decent deal on a 42" Plasma TV or 50% off at a decent retailer.

Beans are beans, they are cheap everywhere!!!

Quoted for truth. You can't even make them taste any better by adding extra flavourings. One of the most disgusting things i've ever had the misfortune to taste. Oh and they were 'gifted' to me by somebody else that couldn't stand them. Proves that not everything that's 'free' is good

has the entire branston factory workforce voted on this?

they always cost this price and we always regret wasting the pound after the first mouthful.

hottest non deal of the decade by far

Nonsense!

Branston are by far and away the best. Heinz are just the same as every other tin of baked beans - a bit runny and not very tomatoey. I don't know anyone who has tried Branston and not agreed they're easily the best.

There's nothing wrong with Beans either...even Gordon Ramsay admits to liking a nice plate of beans on toast now and again. I wouldn't dare make it a staple food of my children's diet or anything, but there are far worse things you could eat.
#21
I got a tin of these free when they were first launched and have never had them again - disgusting! But guess the price isn't too bad for those who do like 'em...
#22
hey beans fried egg and toast you could live on every day for life...but branston have hard skins ...heinz in this one case are infact the best as they seem softer regardless of the sauce..if watery i add curry powder butter and black pepper

tho im not sure why anyone would be interested in that fact.

Beanz meanz Branson. Thought I'd never say it but they are far tastier than Heinz, Eat a can tonight (and have a bubble bath tomorrow!)

You know, thanks to this thread, I think I just might. A big, slow cooked jacket potato topped with beans and cheese with a nice summer salad on the side...yes, I think I will. :)

I know. .. I clicked on this thinking this could be a spoof thread.

There not as nice as Heinz these IMHO as they are too sweet and don't have enough tomato.
#31
There's one brand out in front and all others are much of a much as far as I'm concerned. Not a bad deal but I'd just as soon eat Value beans as these ones...

I'll also refrain from voting.

And those of you who are as old as me will remember in the 80's a bargain brand brought out by Kwik Save called No Frills (the grand-daddy of all supermarket discount ranges). No chance of the trading standards challenging the Kwiky on their advertising slogan here :giggle::giggle:
I can recall many an exciting evening playing hunt the bean in these tastefully packing white labelled tins. If I was really peckish I would treat myself to a No Frills Pot Noodle, these really were a instant cure for constipation !! Aaaahhh the memories ....
#33
If they are in the new silver tin , Beware!! less beans and less tomatoes! more water presumably.
(Old orange tin 52%beans & 36% toms, new tin 50% beans and a measly 30% toms) Still nice beans though. mmmm

You're spot on there about the spaghetti, the beans are nice but I like more sauce than the branston has, we bought the spahetti before and had to throw it away, it was that bad.
