Similarly .. had a Braun and a new set of cutters and foil was going to be more than a new shaver, so ended up dumping it.

Just seems rediculous, 10% of a product costs more than 100% of a new one.

Still a cracking deal, have some heat

Reminds me of printer ink...

Thanks for the comments, I wet shave with a safety, but try and only have a proper shave twice a week so need something for a trim inbetween.

So hopefuully with low usage this wont need foils and cutters for a while

I thought that was probably the case - I was trying not to be too offensive ;-)

these are terrible got one at 30 about 6 months back, the remington my father got for 14 was far better.
#15
Thanks 1duck. Will report back in a day or two. Can be any worse than my current blunt effort.

Must be end of line clearance, I picked up one the other week from Argos - reduced to £32.99.
I thought that was a good deal, but £23.99 BARGAIN!
Having used it a bit, I can say that in my opinion it gives a good & comfortable shave - much better than the Remington it's replaced.

Got one of these when they were on special in Superdrug (15 quid iirc). Always used braun foils between wetshaves for the convenience but this is the worst one i've had. Takes forever to shave and you'll be constantly going over and over the same area and still misses loads of hairs. Went back to my activator and chucked this in the drawer for an emergency backup. The motor feels underpowered.
#18
If you want a close shave, dry.. without the hefty cost of foil replacements then I really do suggest the wahl.

This.

Had this for about a year, not clean shaven since. Think it shaves hair to around 1mm. Perfect for me.

Thats a trimmer though not a shaver? Ok if you're going for the stubbly look :)

great price, just called warrington to check stock, waiting for them to call me back.

Good luck with that store, I drove thirty miles to pick up something they told me they had plenty of stock off and when I got there they couldnt find it in the storeroom.

Good luck with that particular store, I drove over thirty miles to pick up something from there a couple of weeks ago which they told me they had plenty of stock off and when I got there they couldnt find it in the storeroom, they said 'its not our fault the storeroom is a mess'.

it's not your fault so don't feel bad.

unless the people buying these products demand better, the factories will keep churning out products that are designed to break. my top faves of the moment are:

1) NETBOOKS !
2) PRINTERS !
3) MOBILE PHONES !*

*(although part of this is due to 12/18month contracts, the phone is designed to last the length of the contract)

Also got this one, pants compared to a decent philishave, takes AGES to do a good shave and really doesn't do that very well.
#27
Worked ok on my 1 day stubble.

So far happy.

picked one up from Regent Road in Manchester - they seemed to have a few in stock.
Oldham said they had them but they were £39.99.....so might be worth a punt to see what it scans at.

first shave with it this morning - works as well as my philips that died which was 3x as expensive
