Not bad, but don't you have to pay postage if you spend less than £40.

Good find, heat and rep added. Are these type on a par with sonic ones or are the sonic ones superior?

Excellent value for the 5000, much better than the cheaper versions, plus you can clean your teeth twice as quick with the twin pack, one for your top teeth one for your lower;-)

They don't hold the charge that well after a while though, I have had issues with them. I originally bought mine from boots @ £19.99 (for two).
Now i have the 8500 which is so much better.

Just what i've been after, fed up of buying batteries. Cheers OP, voted hot.

yep - very true

8000+ range = li-on batteries

cheap ones have ni-cad

Thanks have just ordered one, been looking for an electric toothbrush for a while and this looks like a good one, one for me and one for hubby, even better!

Good price, but I second the fact that in the whole range, they get good starting from the 8000 up. My dentist recommended getting 8000 or higher. I seem to remember that they're faster too? (more oscilations...)

yeah they are, 40,000 as opposed to 20,000

Not bad but I brought the BRAUN ORAL-B PROFESSIONAL CARE 6000 ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH Twin Pack for £20 from Boots a month ago,

Yep was going to say 8 series or 9 series would be better cleaning, battery charge lasts longer and better battery overall - would rather spend that bit more for it....

+1

double the oscillation rate and battery is li-on.

defo worth paying an extra tenner.

But do you get two for the extra tenner?

an 8000 range toothbrush is about a tenner more than one of these costs :whistling:

This is wrong. The 8000 series has Ni Mh batteries, as do all the Professional range i.e. the 5000, 6000 etc. The main differences causing the different battery lives between these boils down to the capacities of the batteries.

All those bragging about how excellent is their 8000 or 9000 series, Please confirm whether they have a Li-Ion or NiMH?

my mistake - 8000 does indeed have nimh

not sure on 9000

I do know that this 5000 oscillates 20,000 times whereas an 8000 is 40,000 hence the tenner extra
