REMEMBER TO USE QUIDCO! AS YOU GET £20 CASH BACK!

By using the lowest option "Option 100", instead of £34.88, works out as £14.88...

Same for the others

Option 100 - was £34.88, with quidco £14.88
Option 200 - was £67.88, with quidco £47.88
Option 300 - was £100.13, with quidco £80.13
Option 400 - was £124.88, with quidco £104.88

£25 Quidco!

I was reading that article this morning, it does make a good read if you need to get some roadside/homestart assistance. Autoaid cost £32 for you and your spouse in any vehicle and is well worth considering.

Ive purchased this breakdown cover thru Quidco 5 minutes ago but its not showing up in 'My Earnings'. Can I expect it to show up or has something gone amiss?
#10
I had AA cover with the AA. They gave me a big discount because I paid by credit card. The following year they took £112 :x off my card. I complained and said that I never gave them permission. They said that they record all calls but couldn't find the recording of me giving permission but still refused to refund me the money. They did send me mail but as I didn't want another policy at £112 I threw it in the bin without reading it properly. The lady I spoke to said "I was obliged to read the letter and if I had I would have realised that they had set up an annual direct debit." The credit card company said I had to sort it out with AA. Went round in circles and got nowhere.

Make sure you cancel your direct debit if you take out a policy as the deals are only for new customers and you won't benefit from Quidco next year.
#11
I had to comment on this one because my mate who works for the AA is sat right next to me. He couldn't believe the deal until we checked it out, so this is a -good- deal.

Hi Marko4ever24 any chance of a point towards that nectar code pretty please. Anyone any ideas where to look. Thanks to original op.
#13
anyone can provide the code to get 2000 nectar points?

Do these policies cover the car or the driver?

3 of us share the same car, so do we need 1 policy or 3?

Nevermind, reading the site helps.

Just registered with AA via QuidCo, and mine is tracked at £25!!! :w00t:

Option 100 - £31.80
QuidCo - -£25.00

TOTAL - £6.80!!

Do they take 1 payment out by DD? or by instalments?
#18
will i be able to buy this now and make a start date of from april?

"£31.80 (includes 20% off)

Pay once every year under a direct debit or credit card recurring transaction arrangement.

If you would like to pay for your membership in monthly direct debit instalments (Continuous membership), or make a one-off payment for the year, please call us on 0800 085 2721."

How do you cancel a "credit card recurring transaction arrangement." ...never heard of one of those before!
#20
just signed up, took me a while to figure out why my confirmation email said £34.88 instead of £31.80

the £31.80 option is at the bottom of the page under the option 'vehicle cover', i presume this means no matter who is driving the car if it breaks down they are covered. this might answer rbentleys question from earlier

the one i picked is at the top for £34.88 which covers you no matter if you are driving or a passenger.

so you get to pick which suits best, sods law i picked the wrong one, if i picked vehicle then me and the missus would be covered

i checked the terms and conditions, you can cancel the recurring card agreement

anyway still a good deal, my quidco has tracked £25, rep left and voted hot

heres the terms & conditions http://www.theaa.com/services/breakdowncover/breakdown_terms_conditions.html

I took out the AA via Quidco approx Oct last year after a couple of days Quidco showed £20 had been cancelled rang AA who hadnt a clue about Quidco so just canceled the policy so keep an eye on your Quidco balance.
Also to take the policy 100 your car must be less than 10 years old.

Within topic and worth noting:

https://www.halfordscarbreakdowncover.com/

Possibly can get quidco cashback as well, but nevertheless these prices are terrific. Heard good reviews and certainly seems a good deal. I'd get it if my car wasnt reliable ;)

For example
Option 400 - was £124.88, with quidco £104.88
Halfords Level 3 - £59.99 excluding quidco

For me its a no brainer!

Hi Sparky,
They did exactly the same to me, and like you we went round and round in circles. Eventually, I told them that unless they had recorded evidence of my agreeing to them taking that money, I'd consider taking legal action. Needless to say, they didn't have the evidence and coughed up incredibly quickly! Maybe it's worth a try. And yeah it is a really good deal, but like you said, don't forget to cancel your subscription next year if you don't want to renew it!
#34
this happened to me too
make sure you cancel the policy at end of the year or make sure you got better deal otherwise they will simply take the money and you can get it back from them
eventhough i haven't made any claim my premium went more where for others they charged very less
#35
Logged as £25 quidco for me choosing option 100.

The PUM1611 nectar code seemed to work too.

Thanks a lot!
#36
ok correct me if I'm wrong here but.......

AA Cover -£31.80
Quidco Cash Back +£25
2000 Necter points +£10
Total £3.20 <<<<<<<<<<<< In effect I've been paid £3.20 to take out this cover?!

Surely not?! :)

RAC is £29 and £20 quidco so it will be £9 !!! its for the driver
Greenflag cover the car, mine came around £30 the minimum cover, also you get £20 from quidco so its very good offer as well...
you can choose whats the best for you if you drive more than one car or more than one driver on the same car...
