Bresser 10x50 Binoculars Special Offer Ref: 9617508
A great rubber armoured binocular and more compact than many competing 10x50 porro types

Don't be fooled by the super-low sale price. Top-quality BaK 4 optics (Bresser is part of Meade Instruments) and solid, reliable mechanics make this binocular a stunning bargain.

These binoculars are a great general use (birding, hiking etc) size and are regarded as the perfect size for astronomy - with an efficient "light gathering" relationship between magnification and aperture, the 10x50 size will deliver stunning astro-image brightness and stellar magnitude penetration (you'll see more stars!) than binoculars with a higher magnification to aperture ratio. The 10x50 binoculars feature long eye relief and soft rubber fold-down eyecups making these binoculars ideal for spectacle wearers.

The Bresser 10x50 is a serious binocular for the astronomer: all lenses and prisms are super clear BaK-4 glass with all glass surfaces fully anti-reflection coated. The rugged rubber armoured cast-alloy metal body has a comfortable high quality feel and features a tripod fitting bush (again, making this binocular ideal for astronomy).

5 Year Manufacturers Warranty

Supplied with soft padded carry case, neck strap, and dust caps.

Lens coating: Fully multi coated

I have a pair of these, they come round once or twice a year at Lidls.

Absolute bargain - you wont find better for the money, really nice quality too- they rival binoculars 4 or 5 times the price.

I don't really know a lot/anything about Binoculars but 10x doesn't seem like a lot
My camcorder zooms 10x is it different with Binoculars?
Or will it be the same?

These are 10x http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20090406.p.Pocket_Binoculars.ar10
and £5.99
#6
I bought these a few times back when they were £9.99

Absolutely worth every penny, these are Quality binos.
#7
Yup, as with other posters, I also have had a pair of these for a few years now .. bargain for the quality.
Voted HOT!!!

Agreed.

Mine still has them from last time around for £12.99 in the non-food section, so depending where you look in our store you could save yourself £2. Though I guess these could be updated versions, some of the regular stuff does change occasionally.

They have a non-branded set of pocket 10x50 Binos for £10 too.

Much over 10x and binoculars really need to be tripod mounted for stability whereas most camcorders with a much bigger range will have some sort of built in stabilisation system. If one doesn't then you'll notice the wobbling but it'll still be usable for general purposes as users of camcorders tend not to be so critical of this sort of thing.

The cheaper binoculars have a much smaller objective lens diameter so will not gather as much light (the image will be darker even though of the same magnification). The only real advantage to the smaller units is portability.

The larger ones have a bigger field of view, i.e. the breadth of what you can see in the distance. Also even though the magnification is 10x in each case you wouldn't want to go any higher as it's pretty hard to keep the binoculars stable when viewing. Let's say you're trying to focus on a star it will be jumping all over the lens because of all interference such as breathing or arms getting tired. Hope this helps :)

I disagree, they are a hot deal because you can't normally buy this model Bresser (or Meade) pair for less. You also cannot buy any other make with comparable quality for anywhere near this price. They are only available from Lidl about twice a year and tend to sell out fairly fast, so in my opinion the deal is hot.
#15
anyone know the approx physical dimensions of these?

cheers

I've been waiting for these to come around again because the only other cheap 10x50 you can buy are from Argos for £40 (they look very similar to the lidl ones) which I have just noticed they have been reduced to £20. These exact Bresser ones online are more like £30-£40.

I doubt anyone can find 10x50 binoculars for under £20, this is the best price around therefore it's a hot deal!

Argos ones are Here btw
#17
According to the website these aren't available until Monday 6th April at my local store - Newkirkgate Centre in Leith, Edinburgh.
#18
I bought some last time round, fantastic quality and worth a lot more.
#19
Not sure if I am allowed to mention Boffer on here?
But they currently have some 10x50 binoculars for £8.99 + £2.99 postage on their site. Not a binocular buff but it may be worth checking out.....
#20
Bought a pair last time for £12.75. Quality item - there is nothing close to these on the market for twice the price. We have a Leica pair which are better but 40x more expensive. These are a bargain!
#21
Leica 8 x 42 for me :-D
#22
hmm.. price keeps going up on these

as the Pound goes down against the Dollar and Euro. There couldn't be some correlation could there? ;-)
#24
there must be some sort of conspiracy - your post has clearly been altered by the government
#25
Are these available now then or do i have to wait till april?
#26
Absolutely superv!

Not available yet, have to wait till Monday 6th April.

I bought a pair before and they are great.

They had a comparable spec pair for cheaper but these were really good in comparison. It's the difference in the optics I suspect even if the specs appear the same.
#29
Just bagged a pair from Wallington store (50 or so pairs out). Seem very good value to me.
#30
Got a pair in Cardiff today, they seem great, cheers OP
#31
Went into one store on monday, didn't have any (even though website says they are on offer at the store), only had the smaller 8x20 (?) ones. Phoned customer services today and all my local stores are "out of stock". :x
#32
Plenty in Cwmbran. Good product too!
#33
Managed to get a couple of pairs, but they have a fairly strong (very noticeable) yellow/orange hue when you look through them :(
Decent quality (for £15) and the case is excellent, if it wasn't for the orange tint, they would be fantastic, but they are just OK IMO.
