These are great for the money. Gone up a bit from last year, £11.99 rather than £9.99 but still excellent value. Shame they don't do them in 8x40 though.
#2
Yes top quality optics these and well worth twice the price..

Not the exactly the same but close.. http://www.bresseroptics.co.uk/details.php?id=404

Best bins - these easily equal much more expensive models by other manufacturers. Also the 10x50 mag/lens ratio is a great balance providing a good field of view and bright image. They also have a tripod screw built in so you can attach them to a camera tripod (binocular mount required - most camera shops stock these) Then you can see the rings around Saturn (which is in the sky at the mo) Great buy voted hot.

It's worth noting that these bins are a LIDL regular and come around about twice a year. So if you miss them this time you can be sure you will be able to get them next time!

Great deal - make sure you get some

I was wondering if this is the same with last year's.
This year it mentions BaK-4 prisms, which are made of a high quality glass and produces sharp images and good edge to edge sharpness
There is no such description last year.

??? Can you see the rings around Saturn through these???
#9
Again, great and well worth 3x more. Got some last time round. Hot!
#10
Another thumbs up here. Got these just before xmas from Lidl and yes, would say they're worth 3 times this price.
#11
I bought these last year. Surprisingly good quality for the money. I'm very happy with mine.
#12
But what do you use them for? You cannot all be ornithologists.
Spying on neighbours more likely. Pervs!!!
#13
Yup I've had a small Bresser spotting scope for a few years now. Excellent bit of kit and cost me around £20 on eBay. I'd certainly invest in Bresser bins if I needed another pair (for watching tweeters, honest).
#14
Can anyone tell me if these are really heavy please?

They're fairly chunky, but fantastic quality.

The ones I bought last time they were on offer in Lidl's (Nov 07?) have the Bak-4 prisms.

So, they should be the same. Lidl's advertising strategy.:p

You should be able to tell that the object (Saturn) isn't round. Depending on what angle the rings are at then the blob may be noticeably Saturn "shaped" but you aren't going to see the rings in glorious detail, and at 10x it's going to be a pretty tiny image.
#20
how many miles can u see with these
#21
Depends in what detail! I can see out of the back of my house a tower in the distance which just a spec with the naked eye - but with these you can make out the definite shape of it, e.g. the roofline and the proper shape of the tower. its 15 miles away.

You can see Saturn... how far do you want to see????;-)

#24
I got these last time too and brill for the price better then my old ones that cost me £30 10 years ago.
#25
I bought a pair of these back in November for a tenner, and they are great!

Despite the fact the price has gone up I recon they are well worth double.

The box certainly appears to have a different picture on the front. However, last years bins have the same spec and also feature BaK-4 prisms.

(Lidl tend to buy huge batches of things, stash them in a warehouse and spend the next two years selling them. That's one of the reasons the prices are so low as they buy in such massive quantities. I suspect that these are the first of a new batch.)

Just for anyone that is in any doubt, here's a place selling a similar pait of Bresser 10x40 binoculars for £60!

As others, purchased these last NOV from Lidl at £9.99.

Honestly, they are outstanding quality for the money, a real eye opener.

£11.99 just shows how much EVERYTHING seems to have gone up by recently.

Just buy them!

Yes you really can. Tho you won't see separate rings - it'll just look like a single one. If you don't have a tripod you could try resting the bins on a fence or some other stationary object. You need to eliminate any 'shake' to see detail at this distance.
#35
Bought them just before Christmas last year. Even my missus is impressed. I've put them to the car and actually we are using them quite often (last time in France, good to have them in the car :) ).
GREAT quality!!!
#36
Picked mine up in Finsbury Park 7:15a about 20 boxes out on rack.
#37
Just popped into my local (Camberley) for the security camera (don't have any) however picked these up now reduced to £4.49!!!!
