Anyone know the Breville model number of this please? I want to know if it has a plate for doing normal toasted sandwiches too.

-edit- i think it is the Breville VST022 and does not have a plate for sealing normal sandwiches.

Panini as far as im aware is not a type of bread, panini basically means sandwich in italy "or with bread" most places that sell paninis use ciabatta bread. but you can use any . Hope this helps

Just thought I'd add to the discussion, bored as I am. Panini is actually plural, one is called a panino. Always makes me laugh when I hear 'Can I get one panini pls?'

Are we sure this is the Breville VST022?
Is this model better or worse than others in the range??

Do you laugh in the queue or wait till you get home? Are you on medication?
