Most of the water inside this kettle touches plastic, which defeats the purpose of a stainless steel kettle. Hot because it's a good price for a 3kw plastic kettle.

Brought this kettle last week for £25. Very quick to boil and looks fantastic glowing in the kitchen. Only thing i would say is kettle shakes a bit when full and boiling, but still a fantastic kettle. Have some heat.
only wish i waited a week. :(

Hmmm, good point pet2000. I have one of these on reserve at my local Argos, and hadn't considered the fact that the water touches plastic inside (hardly a Stainless Steel kettle then). Will cancel the order and find something else.

Heat added though as it's a fantastic looking bit o' kit.

Cheers!

Been using this for a year now,
It's ok, it does what i want it to do, Boil water.
Outside can be very hot to the touch, I found it a little noisy at first (copared to my faithful old kenwood which died on me after 15 yeears) But it has settled down a bit now.
Would i buy another? No

bought this 2 days ago from my local argos (got the last one :) ). The kettle looks nice and does what's supposed to do but as mentioned by roof30 it's hardly a stainless steel kettle. The kettle shakes when boiling and looks quite unstable.

Your 15 year old kettle would not have been 3kw so there is no comparison, these fast kettles are noisy and this is due to the power increase over a standard kettle.

Nearest one to me with stock is Castleford, but the petrol spent would negate the saving. 1 left in Cas though. As an aside, plastic is a much better insulator than msteel, so that might be a + point for boiling water.

Can someone confirm if these a window on both sides?
The last one I got was only single sided and ours sits the "wrong" way round at home.

yes it is.
I bought the last one in my area today as my kettle died yesterday and am more than happy with it.
