Breville Rice Cooker and Steamer ~ Was £32.99 now: £16.49 @ Argos

Tempered glass lid
650 watts.
Capacity 1.8 litres.
Non-stick bowl.
Toughened glass lid.
Keep warm function.
Includes: internal steaming tray, plastic measuring cup and spatula.

- I ordered to be delivered to store, picked up next day.
- Steamer on top of rice, so cooks meats (cut fine if red) & veg at the same time (like Chinese) as rice, add seasoning/oil/sauces at end, put in soft vegs later.
- Non-stick is not the usual crapiola but sort of quality.
- Cooks rice well: Just rinse Basmati till clear, add salt/oil, cover with water, if you're a terrible cook and still uncooked add a tad water later/press button again, never too much water. But this is idiot-proof.
- Looks good, can cook for 1 to 4/5/6, got mine, get yours.

It was this price when I bought mine a couple of months back; it certainly is good value.

I agree with your comments this is a good cooker; however you'll have to let me know how you cook for 1 as the minimum rice quantity is around 2 cups (can't remember off hand) - serious question as I'd read you shouldn't use less than the minimum amounts or it wouldn't work correctly.

Just add the portion for one, small or medium or large version, make sure it is not covered with too much water but just submerged. If uncooked (unlikely) add a little water again later & press button. That comment by a reviewer plus official one about not for one is total crap as others said too. I cooked a few times for one portion already, perfect.

just bought that, Thanks for posting deals.

Just remember when cooking rice on electric or flame or a ricecooker: lifting the lid constantly messes it up, just do it once or twice towards the end when you think it is done.

Good price, this is the model we use, it's been very reliable, could do with another just in case (thanks)
