Went into the Flint Instore shop yesterday and found that the Breville Stainless Steel Lightening Kettle was half-price - £22.49.

I nearly bought one of those for over £40 before Christmas so it appears to be a bit of a bargain.

It is only "instore" though as I can't find it online.

I have one of these kettles and can't wait to send it back, for some reason it makes the water taste strange as though something inside is contaminating the water the only way we can make a decent brew is to rinse the kettle 3-4 times before boiling...and no before anyone suggests it is not the tap water it is definitely the kettle,if any one who buys or has bought this please let me know if you have a funny taste aswell!!!

Was £17.99 at Robert Dyas before Christmas when I bought one.

Ok kettle though, wish it wouldn't glow when off though, I know they're only LED's but it's hardly a good idea. £19.99 now http://www.robertdyas.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=311&storeId=91&productId=33886&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=10410&parents_parent_category_rn=10409&top_category_rn=&showSubCategory=yes&top=&cache_entry=-1

I feel the same, got rid of a glowing kettle, why do they need to glow when there just sat there!?

I fancied one of these but shame about the glowing feature... what a waste in electricity, glowing when not in use... not exactly eco friendly...

anyone got any nice alternative... I want a matching toaster and kettle set... brushed steel and 4 slice toaster?! Cant find any nice?

Bought one of these for £20 at Robert Dyas.

Nice kettle, works fine. Agree about it being 'blue' all the time, but the way I see it is that if it get's used a lot on a particular day, say Saturday, then leave it on - esecially if guests arrive. I have a washing machine that's got a blue LED too, so they tie in.

Looks great in the dark.

I might even buy a toaster too as I'm very slowly fitting my own kitchen and these extras will be the finishing touches.

Actually the 'blue glow' is quite handy for getting a glass of water in the night. Turning the main kitchen light on would wake me up, a blue glow is just enough to get a glass and fill it from the tap.
