Well its not meant for everyday use , maybe once every 2 weeks or once a month or so.

I get tempted at a bag of chips now and then lol .....life is so boring if your safe all the time , nobody wants a bore around lol

You could say the same about smokers and drinkers or many other things :whistling:

Anyone know of any healthy oil you can use in this , Oil which is obviously better to use then those chip shops use????

Obviously people who make these things have no regard for peoples health , high fat foods shouldnt be allowed to be sold

Got one of these - they are fine for the job they do, easy to take apart to clean.

However it is NOT a cool wall - the outside gets very hot when in use. Also - all the writing on the top by the dial will wipe off after a couple of uses :(

Other than that. . . . great little fryer for the price.
#12
Ahh think im not going to bother with this , it will only encourge me to eat unhealthy.....plus i know it will most likely get used once then thrown at the back of the cupboard never to be used again like most of my kitchen gadgets

good price but hot hot hot
#14
voted hot...but in haste....
some of the comments made by reviewers on argos site...
1. cannot fry with the lid on.
2. chip basket rests directly on the element.
3. outsides get pretty hot
4. writing on temperature dial gets erased soon

Can't see how that's possible not being able to fry with the lid on. The lid with have the filter built in and will also control the temperature.

Good deal. Been getting a bit fed up with oven chips and have been looking at one of these for a while.
#16
if the basket is direct onto the element then the oil wont last so long.
pro/quality DF friers have a cool zone at the bottom.so food debris falls through the hot oil and into the cool zone making the oil last longer as it doesnt have loads of burnt bits in it

Just noticed that this is just 38 pence more at Amazon for anyone that's having Argos stock problems. Just use the 15% VAT code.

Yes but these companies would argue that consumer want this in their product! lol, as some company said that some time ago about some cancerous chemical in their soft drinks.

TBH though, food (and drinks even) these days, you do really need to check the ingredients on everything before you eat it.

I guess if u like chip shop chips, this is a great idea, although yes, you should only need to use this once ot twice a month.

Good Deal.

Already own one and comments by "YEZDI" are totally correct, but it works ok and the price is excellent.I have tried dozens of different Fryers over many years, and as of now, have never found a perfect one even after paying up to a £100.00 . The Argos offer price is a shade below some other retailers.

The Morphy Richards 45470 generally gets very good reviews, but it's typically at least double the price of this offer.
#21
Hmmm the reviews are not the best... still looking for a quality fryer
#22

Because it tastes good!

Good deal, my only grip is why do all this type of fryers have such small food capacity if you have an average family you end up cooking in batches unless you pay a fortune for a big one

Yes, that's absolutely right and it's one of the the reasons that the word 'professional' is a bit misleading. A single tray table top fryer that would cut it in a real commercial catering environment would start at about £120 + VAT and would have 4.5litred oil capacity minimum. Normally companies like Parry and Lincat are associated with catering trade. This one is definitely a domestic thing.

bought this from amazon last week as so cheap, but strangely you cannot cook with the lid on. Never come across that before, thought it was the point to reduce smell and mess.
