I don't give a sh1t about who posted whatever when!
I just want to know if this is any good? Some of these things don't make the water quite hot enough to make a decent cup of tea. What's this one like?

I have two of these. I love them. Everyone who tries it wants to dump their kettle and get one. Water is very hot in these, unlike some others.

Takes 30 seconds to make a brew. Quicker than any kettle I've ever seen.

Looks great, the jug part lights up, very easy to keep clean and I've had one for about a year and its performing like new.

Also great for people with disabilities as you don't have to lift heavy kettle/ precisely aim to pour the water, Easy to fill without taking the whole kettle to the sink too.

This is pricier than I paid. £25 and £30 but still the only kettle i'd consider, even at £35.

oh you are so right there. I haven't really seen anything so pathetic ( and funny) on here before. Don't care what it is or how much. Cold from me

So you can control the amount of water to suit your cup and it's not a set amount that give you underfilled mugs that need topping up from a proper kettle, oh wait :|

In the year I've been making tea and coffee with this kettle I've never needed to top up. It puts enough water into a cup to make tea and enough to fill a mug. I have a dozen or so different cups and it suits all of them.

The feedback seems quite positive. :)
I believe that these kettles are very energy efficient too because they only boil the correct amount of water so they don't waste electricity.

I have just seen this for £29.99 delivered from eBid. Am I allowed to mention eBid? I know that Fleabay is forbidden.

So you have a dozen different cups/mugs but they are all the same size :|
Either your drinking out of ½ empty large mugs or adding more milk to top it up

But lets see what the manufacture has to say about the next model up

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Breville-VKJ318-Hot-Variable-Dispense/dp/B002NGNRHC

"Supersize or downsize your cup with the Variable Dispense
Like your cup of tea a little on the large side? Or just looking for a small slurp of coffee to get you going in the morning? Unique to this Breville Hot Cup model is the Variable Dispense control. This feature allows you to choose from nine different sizes of cup, so there's no need to half-fill a large cup or overspill with a small one."

so even they think theres a problem with this lower model, which is why its being sold off cheap

OK first of all, this particular model has been selling around this price for a year. So the idea it's being sold off cheap now is simply not true.

I don't know what kind of mugs you're buying but all of mine hold around the same amount of liquid. I've never bought giant ones or silly novelty cups that can't hold a decent cup of tea. So yes every single one of my cups and mugs is filled high enough that I'm happy with it. What a really silly thing to bring up too. You think I'm trying to lie about how much tea my cups hold? What a foolish idea.

As for the newer model. I'm not interested, I prefer the look of this one and it suits my needs perfectly. Obviously not for your crazy doll house cups and mega tankers but then I couldn't really give a monkeys about your silly mug collection.

For me there is no problem with this kettle. And trying to suggest that because a manufacturer brings out newer models, the older ones are somehow invalidated is about as absurd as your thinking on people trying to cover up how much coffee their mugs hold to everyone that asks.
