For those of us with Sainsburys stores that never have any of the deals posted (Chester!), my brother let me know of this toaster on half price instore (Mold, North Wales branch).

The toaster is not on their web site (I couldn't find it via the search anyway)

Here's a link to the same toaster on Amazon at £54.99:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Breville-VTT002-Four-slice-toaster/dp/B0010NQ5V4

The one 3 star review seems a little harsh as she likes the toaster, yet deducted 2 stars because the power lead isn't long enough!

Seems okay but what i need is a good toaster that takes Plain Loaf!
recommend anyone?

darn it, just bought one as well (half price from sainsburys but only 2 slice)

Just bought one from Sainsburys but had to take it back because it didn't toast the top 1 1/2" of bread!!! Maybe this one would do the trick...?

I've purchased a 2 toaster version of this and it works and looks a treat!
Would liked to have purchased a 4 toaster version but cost alot more a year ago

I think i saw one of these at same price in a regular sainsburys

Worth mentioning this is a different model to the one that was massively discounted in Sainsburys.

Also worth mentioning that this toaster was the biggest load of **** I've bought.

It toasted unevenly, drove me nuts and blew up after 11 and a half months taking the house RCD out in the process.

I wouldn't own another one if it was given to me - it was the biggest waste of space around.

Now got another brand 4 slice (I posted a thread about it a couple of months ago) and its a much better toaster than the Breville

Be warned - you will probably be disappointed with it.

Cold-ish...
The higher model is only £24 delivered from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Breville-VTT090-Toaster-Slice-Stainless/dp/B001DGZ4GU
and £24 from Additions to which you could use some vouchers perhaps http://www.additionsdirect.co.uk/rf/add/p.do/appliances/toasters/kitchen-electricals/breville/vtt090-s-steel-4-slot-toaster?A=5613054675242756799015

Good to grab if you need a toaster same-day and your instore, but surely there must be better deals on bread warming/dehydrating units :p

No offense intended, but if you bought a tv and tried to watch a football match, only to discover the grass looked blue, or there was no picture, you'd take it back right? Why did you not take your toaster back? Mine's just made a perfect slice first attempt.

You (both) obviously had duffers. It happens. Seriously, exchange it next time you get something that doesn't work properly.

Mines ok, just turn the bread the other way and it toasts all over. (kingsmill)

I got it half price at Sainsburys a year ago - only paid about £23 for it and they were out of stock of replacements so would have been without a toaster. I also stopped shopping at Sainsburys at around the same time so never got round to taking it back.

It was only after it went bang that I decided to grab the box out of the attic and take it back.

Just bought this 4 slice one from argos £16.59, pretty good reviews. Works well, does exactly as it says on the tin......

About to buy this from Comet (couple of quid more but in stock)... not so sure given the negative comments?

Is the one on Amazon a better model?
