Based on the popular Newbery Award-winning novel, Bridge To Terabithia is a story of friendship, family and the power of imagination.

Jess Aarons is an outsider at school and even in his own family. Jess has trained all summer to become the fastest kid in his middle school class, but his goal is unexpectedly thwarted by the new girl in school, Leslie Burke, who competes in the "boys only" race and wins.

Despite their awkward introduction, the two outsiders quickly become best friends. Leslie loves to tell stories of fantasy and magic. Jess loves to draw, but until he met Leslie, it was something he kept to himself. Leslie opens up a new world of imagination for Jess. Together, they create the secret kingdom of Terabithia, a magical place only accessible by swinging on an old rope over a stream in the woods near their homes. There, the friends rule the kingdom, fight the Dark Master and his creatures and plot against the school bullies. Thanks to his friendship with Leslie, Jess is changed for good.

Fab film....great spot!

Overlooked this as a kid's movie, but it seems to have good reviews...might just try it. As for the deal, voted hot! :D

Very sad film. Won't be watching it again, too upsetting. No happy ending which is unusual for a kids film.

Agree entirely - this is quite a deceptive movie and most definitely not a 'feel good' movie. I found it quite depressing, and the trailers all push the CGI of which there is very little. Can't recommend it at all.

got this when it was on the cereal offer for a £1, as said sad film

Sad but good...fine for kids over a certain age, best pre watch it before considering it for your own kids though.

It wasn't *that* sad to never watch again, for the average Joe.

Great film. As everyone said above it initially seems like a kids film but it's got a very good ending and is definitely different to most current run of the mill films. Would recommend (plus it's not all doom and gloom at the end)

It's a brilliant film but should only be watched once I think.

Great film which my 3 kids (aged 8, 11 and 13) all enjoyed and have watched over and over again.
Highly recommended albeit very sad.

I got this on rental thinking it was for kids sat down all happy to watch movie expecting some sort of fantasy world type film, was very dissapointed, it was sad, morbid and a real let down, I would not reccommend this to anyone young or old unless you are in need of a good cry and even then you can probably get that from a "feel good movie" without the dark side. Good price and for that its hot but BAD movie do not buy.

Agree with everyone else. Good film, but not a kids fantasy movie, its no Harry Potter. There is a really tragic dark twist which some kids may find upsetting.

Very touching film. It was promoted as being a "family, fantasy film", but it certainly isn't that. It's a tale about growing up and dealing with tragedy.
This type of movie generally doesn't do as well at the box office, hence the misleading trailer.
It is a very good film though, just not a film that will make you feel good after it's finished.

Brilliant film. I knew this post would be full of people complaining it's not a feel-good movie and that it's not suitable for kids. You can't protect your kids form stuff like this all their lives. I would agree that the trailers/advertising were misleading, it was actually a much better movie than I was expecting - not the usual, predictable, banal, Hollywood feel-good crap we're used to.

Your kind of bad is another person's kind of good, you really should rephrase that as a recommendation of not to buy rather than ordering us not to. >_>

I agree, Harry Potter is much worse for the particular twist you're thinking of than the Bridge To Terabithia is but kids seem to be able to handle the former just fine so they can no doubt handle this too.
