I'm down to 3mm on the back and may have to bite the bullet

Halfords in my experience are a waste of time. Had gone through asda for 2 new tyres I had booked a day & time slot to be fitted. Turned up to be told I'll have to wait an hour & a half for them to get round to me. Told them that's a ridiculous amount of time to be waiting around plus the fact i had other things to do.

Heat added op :)

is there not a cheap 215?

my default size is the same as yours, but I run on 215s - protect the rims more too

Even if they've been involved in a crash?

Bridgestone's are loud, Pirellis are much better.

Find it annoying how much more 195/55/16 costs but never mind. Got four new Falken ZE914s for £255 last week (Halfords).
#15
Uniroyal rainsport 3 in 205 45 17 for £75 plus fitting
#16
Is there any of these in a 195/55/R15? I'm an absolute tyre novice and Amazon showed me no bridgestones
#17
Or Atlas sport green £44 a corner. Came 7th out of 50 in autobild tyre test.
#18
very good tyre. got all 4 changed on my astra about 3 months ago and despite one having a puncture! (nail) already I would go with these or a similar spec Goodyear. FYI all 4 cost £280 fitted at £70 per tyre
#19
I would recommend the uniroyal rainsport 3 to anyone. I never scrimp on tyres as its the only contact you have with the road.

That was a misprice and my order got cancelled along with all the others I got an email with a lie excuse.

Asda tyres do these for £61.99 including fitting.

Would never take tyres off a car involved in a serious crash/write offs.

Bridgestone's are loud, Pirellis are much better.

This tyre has a noise rating of 71db, which is quieter than the equivalent Pirelli P7 which are more expensive and 72db.

Not saying that I would buy it over a P7 but tyre noise is down to the individual tyre, not the brand.

I had in the past bought used tyres that look like new. Until I seen the inside of many tyres that had some sort of damage slightly worn inside so been running on flat. One had damage on the inside of the tyre/ tyre wall where a nail had gone in bent round inside wearing the tyre side wall . So I won't buy used tyres again, buy New.

Only £59.15 at Tyre-Shopper using discount code DC5ALL
...or £58.62 at f1autocentres using discount code TW125 if you have a Centre near you
It's realy not worth to waist a time waiting for a courier and then taking tyres to look for cheap fitting in my opinion...
There are better tyres around like recently posted Goodyear Efficient Grip or Dunlop Blue Response for 1 or 2 quid more

Cold for me, as I mentioned in the Goodyear post, the Auto express winner (Dunlop Blue response) is only £65.47 fitted(minus 5% as noted above). Unless you don't pay to have tyres fitted this is a much better deal. The Dunlop offers A rated wet grip too.

Edited By: damadgeruk on Dec 29, 2014 19:03: Clarification - fitted price.

Thanks to advice on this thread, I've saved over £30 on two good branded tyres which I am paying the same as a budget tyre price. HUKD working well again,

Need a nice set of 13 inch tyres for my W05 Hybrid (_;)

This is an amazing coincidence. I had ordered these bridgestones through Asda but then checked on tyre reviews.co.uk and found the Goodyear EfficientGrip performance to beat them by quite a way and also were cheaper. It took quite a bit of hassle to cancel then reorder but I am sure my daughter will be safer with the goodyears.

Good luck with the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance. I bought four a year ago on my CTR (£480), and will have to change the front two in the next few months. They are good in the wet at first, but the wear rate is very bad, and definitely deteriorate in the wet over time. I have only done about 10k and mostly on motorway. Wish I had stuck with Bridgestone Potenza's

I have tried the Blue Response and the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance. Dunlops are better in my opinion as the Goodyears seem to have softer sidewalls so roll is a bit of an issue on my Mazda 6. Wear about the same for both. Wet grip about the same.
