I've not seen anything regarding the download size - how big is it? Link to info would be helpful :)
#3
it's only 5 gig download
#4
Has anyone any idea if you get your key straight away? If you did it would mean you could pre-load on Steam, but if you only get it on Day of release, then it would be quite a wait if the download is big (I'd also like info on that).

In that case, 39p more would be preferrable, but heat anyway, good price. :)
#5
If Asura is right, then I've downloaded far more, Portal 2 was something like 9gb.

I haven't got my key yet, but they are planning to release the keys some time next week (according to random blurb on forums) ... hopefully before midnight, so we can pre-load. However 5 GB should only take a couple of hours to download, so i'm easy either way - just hope it's as good as it should be!

Well the game itself is similar in size to portal 2 to install, so that would make it a minimum 8gb download. Suppose it depends on compression methods etc, but valve are normally quite hot on that front. But wait and see i suppose, you do get to start the download 2 days early on steam anyway.

Even better - Quidco tracked against teh original £29.99 price - so it's £2.40 cashback, bringing the price to £20.06.
#9
Thanks OP ordered!
Through quidco too, got this over other pre-orders because I want to use it on Steam :)
#10
Thanks, ordered this and Dirt 3 for about £39 (in.c quidco), amazing deal!
Taking a bit of a gamble on this game but from all the videos/previews i've seen and read it looks like it will be great.

well not for people who don't have 20/24mb connections(so like 2mb/s d/l), I only have a 2mb(max) connection(200kb/s d/l) and it takes couple of hours to d/l 1gb.

I'm wanting brink but can't decide if I should go with pc version or ps3.

No matter where you pre-order the PC version, it will register on Steam.

HOT. was deciding weather or not to buy this game. am now waving my £20 qud version in the faces of my eager steam friends.
#14
As long as the keys are released before release and steam do a pre-load. Then yes, you will be able to pre-load.
#15
done. great work OP.

Steam are already doing a preload on Brink.

Just one question though - why are we so sure that this can be registered on Steam?

EDIT: "This product is not eligible for refunds. This title installs and requires STEAM to play." - from D2D page.

Interesting because you get the Psycho Pack, but it's cheaper at MyMemory. £20.89 if you use AMA5 at the checkout.
#18
tempted, but i really dont see the point in paying now and not be able to use it for a week and a half
#19

#25

ordered, cheers op.

Not too confident that the cashback will actually get paid, but hey £22 is a good price with the extra dlc.
#27
Any word precisely when they're going to release keys so we can start pre-loading?
#28
Looks like D2D have messed up a little, bought the one in the link and it's the EU version, and when I received the installer there was no English option.

Apparently there's a UK one here: http://www.direct2drive.co.uk/10888/product/Buy-BRINK-UK-Download

And the EU one isn't supposed to be available to the UK: http://www.direct2drive.co.uk/9938/product/Buy-BRINK-EU-Download
#29
Anyone had any luck using the code today? I tried but niether the scorchio or sizzle ones will work with brink or any other game now it seems :(
#30
Attention Direct2Drive UK BRINK Buyers:

We are aware of an issue with using your key if located outside the UK. We are working with Bethesda to resolve this. There is still plenty of time to download and get ready for May 13th!

Whats the refund policy on this game as it states on the page

This product is not eligible for refunds. This title installs and requires STEAM to play.

Does that mean if you activate on steam.

I am currently in the same boat. The installer I downloaded has no English language option and I have not received my key. They mention that people outside the UK may have problems with their keys, but the fact that I'm both in the UK and have no key to speak of makes this irrelevant to me.

Contacted them yesterday but I have yet to receive a reply. I originally cancelled my preorder at MyMemory for this but I'm starting to regret that decision now...

I think they've solved that issue; on the download page there are now 2 seperate download options:

- Download Game File (English) - 5.07 GB File Size
- Download Game File (French, German, Italian, Spanish) - 5.88 GB File Size

Still no idea why the steam key is no-longer available; they emailed it to me, and it was provided on the download page the first time I visited, but not now.
#37
Argh I'm in the same EU boat! God damn! anyone had any luck getting the UK version? I've only got the download for the EU version I think :S !!

do you need an answer to that question ;)
try using that thing between your ears, NO REFUND and you need STEAM to play it.
#39
Well, so much for the preloading on Steam. If they don't get the keys out tonight, there are a lot of people who won't have TIME to preload before Friday.

I've still yet to receive a Key from them, but my main concern is the two files you can download above...

are: Brink_NA_ddmf.zip & Brink_EU_ddmf.zip.....

which sudgests they just letting you download the USA version??? "North America"
I bet when I get the key, I'll still have problems and have to re-download them again.

already over 10gb just on doing both of these! and still no support ticket responce or emails...
