Hehe :) It's really SpAmazon

How widely available are these filters and how expensive? More so than the universal type that fit at the back of the filter jug? Is it worth binning an old filter jug for this?

Rayman, I am sure someone has said it before but you remind me of 'The Saint'. All you need is the halo!

I bought one of these about 6 weeks ago. Last week I dropped it in the sink & broke the lid. A quick email to Brita & 2 days later I have a new lid - great customer service.

Sounds like a good deal, but you have to replace the filter every 4 weeks...so it'll cost you another £12 a month just to keep running!!

...still, I like the blue one :)

bit of an urban legend at uni, but i know 2-3 people who swear by this...

Apparently if you put any old cheap vodka through the brita filter 1-2 times it comes out amazing ! !

If it did the same for canned beer I'd buy one!

I also bought it 3 weeks ago, cause it is damn cheap. I got it with 3 more Maxtra filtershttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Brita-Maxtra-Filter-Cartridges-3/dp/B000B5O1TU/sr=8-1/qid=1165432721/ref=pd_ka_1/203-3539332-8822306?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen
so I can get free delivery.

Absolute bargain now and then. After 6 months will buy these from Argos :)

I purchased this back when you posted it at £13 on amazon :)

This is brilliant if your a water drinker! If you live anywhere with hard/cloudy water, you should consider greatly in investing in this. £12 for clean water - no brainer given the quality of water in some areas these days.

These are great. If you live in an area with crap tap water like me it makes a huge difference. You have to buy the filters but its much cheaper than buying bottled water.

Good price as well.

They are selling the Marella XL Anniversary pack ion TJ Hughes at the moment for £12.

This is the large tabletop jug, along with 3 filters and a sports bottles.

We use the filtered water in our Senseo and Tassimo machines as the lime in the water is filtered out. It saves de-scaling an expensive machine, not to mention putting dodgy chemicals through it.

Still around ... bump :)
