Thanks, rayman, A very good price for this especially with the free cartridges :)

Thanks rayman.
I was eyeing water filters at the end of summer last year in Robert Dyas as they had them reduced, decided not to get one then. But I am seriously considering it now as our water is getting worse and worse.
I do have a question of anyone that uses these, the new MAXTRA cartridges seem to be about 3 times more expensive than the old style cartridges:
1) Are they worth it?
and
2) Is there anywhere to get the cheap.

Thanks,
X10

Yup, best I could find was this:

Brita Maxtra Cartridges Pack of 3 PLUS 1 FREE £9.99

Think I may have mentioned before but they are/were selling the larger anniversary pack with 6 free catridges and 2 sports bottles for £19.99 instore at robert dyas. I bought this a couple of weeks so not sure if it still the same price.

Seems to be £24.99 online though. Large Anniversary Pack.

Being someone who loves water, im trying to get someone to get me it for Christmas since im one of the hardest people to buy for. And tap water these days are not the same as it used to be.. And will be worse when they start purifying our waste into drinking water (euch!)

Not a nice thought is it woohoomoo? lol Although the water we drink now must have been through a lot already...

There does seem to be a lot more limescale/chalk sediment in the water lately too :)

Thanks McSteve ;-) The RobertDyas deal looks good also!

With the robert dyas deal it would have been good at £20. But for £25 all your really getting extra is the extra bottle... Which after the postage fee's might not seem worth it compared to buying the £15 deal on Amazon.

rayman... I must admit, after recently visting England last month for the World Renault Series car racing, the water up here in Scotland is in much better shape than down in England (where i was anyway). But sometimes the water just doesnt taste drinkable. Lately ive been paying for bottled water so this water filter jug might actually save me in the long run :)

Could be the lack of Scotch whisky in the water down here :)
#11
Hehe :) Down here it's the lack of water, no matter how much rain we have, it's never enough... But our water's hard, especially when it's ice :giggle:

Have some of ours Rayman? on the house of course.

Problem with Scotland is theres always too much of the wet stuff.

"The problem with Scotland is, it's full of Scots"

Rep to the first person to tell me what film that's from, who said it, the name of the TV series he/she are probably most famous for and the song sung towards the end of the final episode of that series!

does 1 cartridge last 1 month then i take it?

Our Tesco still has the clearance offer of their boxed branded water jugs with 4 filters for just £2.24 - that's cheaper than one replacement filter. The Tesco filters are Brita compatible too.

Now £11.97 if you bought this at the higher price, give Amazon a call
0800 2796620 As it's only a day or two since the price change, they might refund the difference!

My manager always used to say - "But you were willing to pay £x for it then."
#24
Thanks for the info Ray..I've cancelled my order..will reorder at the new price and add something to get free delivery.
#25
Just ordered the white... Strange why they didnt change the price of the blue one.
#26
Anyone recieved this? Just curious if you think it's worth £12 let alone the previous prices... :)
#27
On Amazon, and in the shops, the water jug alone costs more than what your paying for the jug, plus 3 additional cartridges. These things really work so if you drink a lot of water, i would say its worth the money.
