This is a great deal for this item. Brita don't usually do Glass jugs but this one IS. I looked online and they are still between £30 and £44.

online It says they are £9.99 so i reserved one went down and it came up at £6.99. Then I went to another store and picked up one for my mum this time just putting in the product number 842/3294 and it was also £6.99 so its just not been updated online. So just reserve and go pick it up.

Online it says this was £19.99 but on the box it has a big sticker saying Was £39.99 now £13.99 So was at one time sold in argos for £39.99 which I can believe as it is the RRP for this. Although not on Britas website anymore there is an article from their PR dept about this just need to do a search on their site for brita Glass.

Anyway this looks really nice and better than the plastic ones for longevity. It aslo has The digital Brita Memo replacement indicator which was not clear on the website which makes this even better. All in all

A great price for something very nice looking and pricey to buy anywhere else that still has stock.

Try Using http://www.icheckstock.co.uk If you cant find stock

*****EDIT******

Now showing up as 9.99 on argos

I don't think The Dude would bother and people shouldn't expect him to. Believe the deal, don't believe the deal, it's an internet forum, not Hansard.

No stock in North Essex but seems to be a few South (Basildon, Billericay, Brentwood, Rayleigh).

LOL Sometimes I just get carried away when a deal looks good. I've reserved one now just need to ask a couple of questions if thats ok.
I'd use the tap but the misses insists on drinking bottled water. How much is it likely to start costing me if I go down this road and start buying the filters?

Cheers (mines a pint and not of filtered water)

Just reserved the last 2 at Lowestoft but it has come up at £19.98. Will this price be reduced at the shop or will it stay at that price when I enter my card at the machine in the shop.

OOS in my area :(

Too small and the metal trim goes rusty which makes it look terrible. Gave up on mine after a few months and installed a Brita tap.. by FAR the best solution.

Well there is plenty in stock in South Wales according to the stock checker, cardiff, swansea, merthyr, Port Talbot, Ponty, Caerphilly, Talbot Green.

Do you have a separate Brita tap or is the filter connected to your existing tap; do you really notice a difference as the system isnt cheap?

Sounds a good deal but out of stock in my area!

as usual with these deals coming up on here for argos there is hardly any stock anywhere!!
Yeah, er, funny that...

Out of stock all shops around me (North London); but heat still added......

Would love to see some double blind tests of this filtered water vs tap water.

Outside of London water quality is pretty spot on in this country. You might get some chlorine smell but that disappears quickly after pouring from the tap at room temperature.

The quality might be fine but the taste varies enormously. I was brought up in a soft water area and find it difficult to drink the hard water where I live now without filtering it first. It also stops the oily scum appearing in my tea and I don't need to descale the kettle anymore!.

(slight aside) Bottled water...the biggest marketing genius ever invented, getting people to pay more for plain water than they do for petrol. It costs 200 times the water that comes out of your tap, yet tap water beats bottled water time after time in blind taste tests. And still people buy it without thinking. The claim that you need to drink 8 cups of water a day is complete nonsense - it was invented by (surprise surprise) marketing departments for bottled water companies, to try to get people to drink more!

Genius...

At least these Brita things are reusable...still expensive though (marketing ploy: sell the units cheaply, sell the filters at extreme profit margins. Same sales model as home printer manufacturers)

At least they haven't started shipping jugs with cartridges that are only good for half a cup of water.... yet! :p

no stock in any of the nearest 10 argos stores

I would agree with the filters but most of the time you can get them on an offer somewhere. Just check previous deals on here.

Filters last a month so even £10 for 4 which seems to be a regular offer on amazon means its only £2.50 for a month I know people that spend that in a day on bottled watter.

Lastly I know the Marketing companies BS us a bit on bottled water but We should stay hydrated though its not a marketing ploy. We function much better without fizzy juice thats why schools promote only water in classrooms not fruit juice or that since these tend to be quite high in sugar.
#34
shame oos every where near me
#35

#36
It should still be £6.99 when you buy it instore even though it does say £9.99 on website though
