  I've just bought the blue one and keeps getting little black bits in the bottom from the filter after 3weeks. Anyone else get this problem?
  I'm using the original cartridge it came with.

  These are great, got mine when £5.99 at Argos. Still worth £9.99 all day.
  
  As regards to the black bits, i also had them and after asking about the conclusion was that the orginal filter tends to get shook about and this loosen theses bits inside and inturn appears in water,, totally harmless aparently. When i changed the cartridge to one bought by myself they went.
  
  Not saying this is true or not, but was the most feasible explanation i could find.

  Can anyone explain the electronic meter to me? I had mine packed away and I'm now using it. It still says 100% but there's a flashing dot at the right-hand corner.

  Just looked at the details for "Memo": "Change the filter cartridge when all the bars have disappeared and an arrow starts to flash after approximately four weeks". One cartridge filters 100 litres approx in hard water areas, apparently.
  
  The Memo indicator runs out after about 6 months, but apparently Brita can provide new ones for free!
  
  It sounds like the "black bits" might be carbon particles (mentioned when priming a new cartidge, you fill twice and empty it to clear them out)?.
