Was in Sainsburys in Stoke yesterday and picked up a "Brita Marella Cool Pure Graphite" water filter including jug and filter for just £4, scanned through fine so doubt a misprice. Not sure if it's store only or nationwide, but everwhere else is selling these for around £18, £10 second hand on ebay.

Note Sainsburys have a similar one online for £12, it is exactly the same model, but blue rather than the black one which was £4.

I can't find the reciept, but I'm sure someone else will prove this. :)

Found the reciept, picked up a few bargains in there. The tuna was half price and so were the pillows :D

They sure are

their a bit silly because at the top it tells you how effective the filter is and when you need to change it.........but its based on time so even if you put in a new filter and go on holiday, it will show you need to replace it.
i think its the same model anyway.........

bit like when ink cartridges show their low but you know youve hardly used them.

I think you can hold down the button and reset the bars.

1 bar usually means two weeks.

lol I've always thought its based on the number of times its been refilled.

I've been thinking of getting one of these for ages because Glasgow water is pretty bogging! Thanks!

1 bar is 1 week and yep you can reset it whenever you want.

Is there a real effective way of telling when the cartridge needs canging other then the time ticking indicator on the jug? Like when the taste changes? or you can see bits in the water etc? I spend way too much on mineral water and i think this would be a good alternative, but dont like the hassle of remembering when to change the filter so it would be good if there was something else that would indicate when this should be done and noting it, i can change it. Also, im the only one in my family that drinks mineral water, so i dont think i will need to change the water once a month?

^ I don't go by the indicator at all. I just remember the instant taste change after drinking tap water for years versus using the brita filter and judge by that standard.

Spotted one yesterday but it scanned @ £15.99 so when i queried the shelf ticket of £4, they removed the ticket!!
