i would say this is store specific, it depends if the jug is discontinued or not....they had a brita promo recently and they get rid of the ones the store doesn't normally stock.

i did get one from mine 2 months ago when they also had a brita promo recently, it was a marella one in the graphite colour for £4

Good price for the jug no doubt..

But its the cartridges that cost the bomb!

Britta is like the Gillette of water filters. Bargain indeed.

I get great water out of my tap - thanks Wales!

indeed! how carbon neutral are the carbon-based filters that they seem to change the shape of each spring to get 'better' H20 :w00t:

They may be expensive, but tea tastes sooooo much better when made with filtered water. That's the only reason we still use one as we are happy to drink tapwater unfiltered.

I've used filtered water for years but wouldn't buy this jug. Brita made these special shaped cartridges very expensive and nobody has made a cheaper copy. They're having to sell the jugs off cheap to get people to buy their cartridges

carts are available at £2.50 if you shop around £2 if bulk bought when on offers

check your water through put you may find you can use for more than the recomended month
We run ours for 2 months.

I've had one of these for about 6 months or so and they are pretty good.I agree it is the cartridges that make them expenisve but I personally dont like drinking water straight from the tap, prefer it filtered so im willing to pay just for a nicer taste IMO

I’m Using NSA Water Filter for year. Got 2 NSA water filters from EBay for £10 each Inc P&P. Water test better then Brita water filter Jug. I don’t like the test Brita water filter Jug. You have to look out for this bargain on EBay.

It's true that they use jugs as a way to get people dependent, but there are cheap copies of both the 'Brita classic' type cartridges and the newer 'Maxtra' type cartridges.
