This is a good price for a really good car seat.

Thanks smiler..cheapest I could find was 99£ at kiddicare for a RED car seat.
#3
Isofix?
#4
this a good seat then...looking for a group 1-3 seat.
#5
This is a great seat - we've had it 6 months and just adapted it for the 4 yrs+ stage. All covers wash really well too. I'd recommend it.

I found that halfords price matched as mothercare was nearby & they fitted in the car for me too.

bought this recently. very good. paid £60 but even at this price its a complete bargain

Isofix?

Nope, it's only via the 3 point belt not isofix. Good car seat though

was £65 at tesco a few weeks back (posted on here)... managed to get one and impressed with it so far

Not rated it their most recent one, but in 2006 it got good for side impact and acceptable for front. Doesn't sound amazing but was among the top scoring. The only one that seemed to beat it was the Maxi Cosi Toby which did get good for front impact but then it changed to acceptable. I bought it based in it's performance.

Just found these too... not sure what the difference is between the normal & the plus

Smyths have it also for £89.99 .. the evolva 123 .. not the Evolva123 PLUS.
& Tesco have got the normal one too online for £60, but not in stock: http://direct.tesco.com/stockwatch/default.aspx?r=203-0322

including all the benefits of the EVOLVA 1-2-3 with additional comfort and safety. It also features the Click & Safe™ audible harness system which is designed to aid you when securing your child in the seat

As much as this is a good deal (voted hot by me) it is only a good car seat if it fits your car correctly.

A badly fitting car seat can be lethal, even in a slow speed accident.Get it properly fitted by someone before you buy. Mothercare will do this as part of the sale or walk away.

Your child's life is worth much more than any bargain.

how are these for a 18 mth old?
#17
been this price for ages now... we considered in in december but the neck bit was too tight for our 9 month old... got an axiss ex-display for £145 instead :) and that is an awesome car seat

My personal experience is that this seat fits well in most cars (I don't just use it in one), and whilst I agree that checking it fits well in your car is important, this is something you should be able to do yourself, especially if you intend on ever taking it out of your car. When I bought this seat it came with very clear instructions and a DVD on how to fit it correctly.

Good in my experience, fully adjustable and will last until they are out of a car seat.

We bought one a while ago, the only problem I have with it is when you use the straps to secure the baby rather than the seatbelt itself. So you click the baby into position, then pull the strap below to tighten the arm straps. It's a real pain and you have to pull very hard to get them to tighten. Then there's a safety thing which is supposed to identify if the belts not tight enough whch then expands after you have spent ages tightening it.

I've stripped this thing apart and check it's all lose to move the straps to no avail. My little boy is quite a big boy so I didn't have to use the straps for long. Thank goodness. Could just be mine? Could be with all of them......... you decide ;-)

Sounds like yours is faulty, mine never did that. Unless it is the extra safety thing on the plus version.

According to the Britax guide - the Evolva 123 should fit my car. Is the Evolva 123 plus any different in dimensions or fittings or would they be the same?
#23
Im sure this is similar to my firends and she finds that when she tightens it by the time she gets to her destination the piece that tells you if it is tight enough has loosened again

I know we buy for saftey but does anyones child get annoyed with the two head pieces as i know a little lad who brings his head forward to get out of it and then it wouldnt be safe??
#24
Good price but for anyone interested or not aware of rear facing seats we got ours new seat from http://www.rearfacingcarseats.com/en/article/2/maxi_cosi_mobi

In no way is my link a hot deal it's more an awareness to the issue or rear facing/front facing. You choose.

I understand what you are saying however, but when you buy something online you cannot check it fits your car. A correctly installed seat with a bad fit, is still dangerous.

If you want to buy this or any seat online, I would go to a shop where they sell it. Check it fits your car and then go online to buy it.

I used to have a Nissan Almera Tino (small family mini MPV - think picasso, but nissan) and only one non-isofix car seat would safely fit in it, none by Britax/Graco/Maxi etc. Thse who have a BMW 5-series will sympathise.

I'm not commenting on this as a seat, or as a deal, its just a word of caution.

This is a good point, sorry if I misunderstood. John Lewis are one of the best for this sort of thing, I find they usually know their products inside out.

Thanks to the OP, just ordered this for my son to go into my wife's car.
Was going to get the one from kiddicare but it's on preorder and £100.

Also brought a Britax Duo Isofix for my daughter who's 12mths old from Halfords for £159.99 today (1to 4 yrs old) if anyone needs an Isofix car seat.

Are there any good prices for Evolva 2 and 3 please with isofix?

That is the one I want, it has been renamed kidfix and is the best rated seat of this group in which reports, cheapest I have found is here:

http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500002201&langId=-1&searchTerms=KIDFIX sorry out of stock for home delivery here, same price here:

http://www.bambinodirect.co.uk/details2.asp?ProductID=1802&name=britax-kidfix-clearance.html

though can't recommend because I'm not sure about the seller.

just got my seat... seems to be missing instructions booklet. Anyone else missing the booklet?

here's the instructions... http://www.britax.co.uk/uploads/user-guides/18.pdf. They're in English as well as German.

Excuse my mad rambling - the booklet is tucked into the back of the seat. Doh, doh, doh!
