After their appalling handling of the ash-cloud situation leaving me and my family stranded in India for 12 days with no information, help or support - and then experiencing an even worse level of customer service when trying to resolve things with them afterwards, I would never fly with BA again even if they were giving their flights away.

This has to be a parody! Avoid at all costs

Wouldn't give BA another penny!!! Holding the UK to ransom(and all round carp service!!). Who do you think you are?!!!

FREEZING, only for the BA reasons

You can hardly blame the company for that - it was the cabin crew making all the trouble.

I am curious what they think makes their service "incomparable" though? The only other full-service airline I've been on is Etihad and they were better than my BA flights were. Friendlier staff, bigger baggage allowance, better entertainment, better food and better seats (they always offer me exit row seats, BA didn't).

That's what would get me - no way I would use BA if I'd plan an expensive holiday for flights to then get cancelled. I do a lot of travelling with work and used to use BA, but haven't for about 3yrs now. There's better and cheaper alternatives out there.

We'd had an amazing holiday in India up til then, but being left stranded with the kids feeling poorly, money running out, missing important stuff at work and my son missing out on his birthday party etc was no joke. How BA handled it just made a bad situation much worse.

So, who can I blame for them not allowing my 72 year old mother book/reserve/pay for specific seats on a 34 hour haul to Cairns? Not gonna go into the other issues I have with BA.....They can get......!

How BA treated people/customers over the dust cloud and how the cabin crew have acted (not satisfied to have a well paid job in todays climate) I will never book with them again.

Seem to be a lot of other airlines who came out badly during the ash problem as well - for example BMI and KLM even refusing to pay the compensation they are legally obliged to.

We flew to Vegas with them in March and the flights were fine despite the strike, ok so food was pretty poor but there were still free alcohol for most of it. Anyone who think airline food in economy is good is talking crap anyway, it all tastes the same, very average and not what you'd ever want served up at another time.

The check-in process at T5 is a breeze too.

I'd still fly with BA if the price was right, it's worth the gamble as there's nothing wrong with the service during a non-strike or ashcloud situation.

I think BA is great, always had impeccable service no delays. I think they have had some unfortunate luck which I hope will be resolved in 2011 so that there are no further cuts to peoples livelihoods in the UK.

and I saw plenty of unhappy people who were left stranded and to fend for themselves who had flown with BA too myself being one of them. They didn't give a damn and they refused us any kind of accomodation or help.

Only when I took legal action back home did they decide to refund my losses...

I checked out flights from Jersey/Gatwick to Orlando in June just yesterday and today it's £100 cheaper, despite there recent problems BA have always been the class act to fly with IMHO.Heat added.

I don't know why she couldn't - anyone can check in online 24hrs before you go. Why does it really matter anyway? Everyone gets given a seat before they get on the plane.

Virgin Atlantic, as expected lowered, their prices on flights to the same destination for similar periods as BA, so if this is Freezing for BA reason VA offer might be a bit warmer ;)
