They need the money! May go bust in the next year or so... :| BOOK ON CREDIT CARD!!
#2
Definitely book on credit card!!
#3
Serves them (the company not the staff) right - overpriced flights, not deserved rewards when you collect points with them. However, I do need to get to the WC in SA next year, so I'll take a look and see how it compares ...
#4
I never understood how in these days of internet price checks, BA never realised how much business they would lose by not at least matching the cheapest fairs available from other airliners.
#5
They have put the WORLD on sale?

Hot - global warming!
#6
my mate works for ba call centre say staff are a load of money crabing monkeys

Because they're not trying to match other airlines, they're trying to provide a better service. It isn't rocket science.
#8
fantastic deal. Hot. Went to India with them last year, couldnt be faulted - fantastic service.
#9
Good prices! BA are not about to go 'bust', however beware of the staff strikes which will happen all over the summer. Hence the cheap prices now!
#10
find a good flight to the usa for £250 now !!!! LOL
#11
Y is the picture of "GBAirways"? This was sold to EasyJet ages ago from BA....?!!

I've traveled to cyprus using numerous airlines over the years, BA are by far the best I've used. Sure I could've saved myself £20-£30 each way but I'll have the free drinks, more legroom and better reclining seats thanks.

Some good deals if the company can stay afloat.
#13
Govt will bail them out so I dont think BA will do a Woolies etc
#14
If anybody is about to go bust it's Virgin - definitely use a credit card if you book with them as the house of cards is on the verge of tumbling down. They've just layed off 350 cabin crew and 130 pilots!
#15
Was looking at the prices for India. Pretty much standard prices.
#16
Has anyone actually been able to find these cheap deals? I've found the site but as soon as I go to 'plan and book' the price goes way up! :S

I've just checked and the prices are quoted total for 2 People :) Seems like a great deal! Voted Hot! (I think i've gotten too used to getting excited at prices before the let down... ;) )
#17
Everything destination looks like you can only depart from either London Heathrow or Gatwick.

No good to me.

Hot from me, just booked a flight to Rio in October, £120 than last week's price.
banned#19
wow! cheapest flight to cyprus in september is £360!

I can get it elsewhere for £140!

they deserve to go bust!
#20
You must be living in la-la land if you think a company like BA are gonna go bust. Your paying for quality service besides no one stops you from travelling on a dodgy airline with dodgy service! New york HOT @ £259

Awooga mean anything to you, Mr Shred?

just plugged in the dates I'm going to Oz, and the price on BA was £170 more than I paid on Malaysian. oh well.
#24
No Sale for me. Been monitoring prices to Barcelona for a couple of months and the prices are approx £20-£30 more expensive. :(
#25
£ 2700 to go to Dallas (for 2 adults) in Sept - other airlines using ebooker - £ 700.
Go screw yourself BA! Go bust, please - if you work for BA, find other place to work. Aldi is hiring.

To be honest the quality of services in coach on longhaul isn't great.
Flew back from Sydney last November first part of the flight was Qantas and the second part was with BA, wished I'd gone all the way with Qantas as the the overal quaility of the cabin/facilities and food was substandard with BA, the staff also went missing for most of it.
#27
WORLD offers? They are having a laugh I think- following the recent deals from quality airlines to Oz, checked out Sydney for late January on- BA want over a grand each for economy! No wonder they are in trouble!!
#28
BA will never go bust ....the Government is in the pockets of BA and all the other Labour party donors.

Look how much the taxpayer lost on BA Concorde...... was it £10billion in today's money?!
#29
Yup, BA are def having a laff - just checked for NY - one way is more than the £259 stated (no wonder they state it as 'from £259). Found much cheaper ones elsewhere.

Having travelled quite a lot I must say they may appear as a 'quality' airline when compared with the cheapos like EasyJet and Ryan Air. Compared to some of the other national and majors it is rubbish.
#30
I imagine all the offers mean is that the lowest priced seats are now available at a lower price on these routes, if those seats have already sold out then you probably won't see any difference
#31
Some of you planks really take the biscuit!

You lot may think BA staff are money grabbing so and so's or whatever, but they are not. Also the reason BAs costs are higher, are not just because of the service the provide but also because they maintain and service their planes a lot more frequently than virtually all other airlines, hence their excellent safety record!

If you think their flights are too expensive then go and smell the mustard cos £260 to New York is a very good price for a flight.

If you want to fly to Europe, then yes BA might not be the cheapest therefore fly Easyjet or Ryanair or whichever no frills airline you want. But if you want to fly anywhere knowing your not going to be charged extra for tea, drinks, coffee, inflight meals etc... you get to check in your baggage at no extra cost, you get a decent service in flight, then BA is a good option!

BTW I dont work for BA, and in actual fact I fly both Virgin and BA an equal amount! So I am not biased in any way!

These prices are excellent and a steal!

Basically, people are putting in the most popular dates to fly, finding flights that are fairly full, which pushes up their price... then they moan.

You look around, find a date with an emptier plane and you'll find yourself a bargain. Depends when you need to travel really.

There were much better deals advertised on this site to NYC and Dubai last week with airlines of equal stature. Occasionally BA have some good sales but this isn't one of them. I'd never pay extra to go BA longhaul because they are no better than the competition..although many of their staff think they are.

Very general statement there. You ever been on US Airways?

I've flown to Sydney 8 times in the last 10 years and after using BA the first time I've never used them again! Out of Virgin, Emirates, JAL, United Airlines and KLM only KLM were as bad, Emirates would be my preference. Having said that my parents hated emirates and preferred BA!
suspended#37
Looks like a deal from BA
But the service is rubbish.........
#38
Personally I take at least one longhaul every year and half the time its been BA because they've been the cheapest. As far as the service is concerned I'd rate them half way...not good not bad either...
Cant complain....havent voted thus.
#39
Are British Airways anything to do with Air Canada? The 2 airlines always have exactly the same price...pick a flight to toronto on any day you like and check both sites and they are the same.
#40
BA prices are generally competitive for the US routes (I don't tend to fly east so don't watch how they compare there). I suspect these won't be BA's cheapest sale prices, however they will probably be with £20 of the best prices they'll offer and this offer has the advantage of being open for much of the next year (unlike some sales BA run which only cover the next 3 months). This is probably the best time to book around School Hols/events etc in advance if still available.

Regardless of Airline Failure risk I'd still pay by Credit card though, incase routes are cancelled which I think is possible.

Oh and a couple of the prices on the AA Sale are cheaper at the moment (£249 for NYC, £329 to LA) so it may be worth checking the dates/costs there too (oh and remember AA charge for drinks so if there is only a fiver in it you may prefer BA)!
