Lovely steak.....better than usual supermarket crap. Bought five slabs last night so there doesn't seem to be a limit.

Actually as a hint......Morrisons limits never apply at the self-scan.

Good deal. Meat from Morrisons is consistently better than the other supermarkets in my opinion.

Rump steak is great thinly sliced and stir fried. If you want to just pan fry a whole steak warm a small bit of butter and a splash of olive oil in a pan with a clove of garlic, then lift the garlic out before it browns, turn up the heat and fry the steak for as short a time as you dare! Always rest it for 10 mins in a warm (not hot) oven after cooking as this will allow the meat to relax and not be so tough.

It's good steak this.

You sometimes have to lookout for the bits with a big bit a gristle through the middle and avoid them but top value for great tasting meat.

Looks good.

What do Asa do to their meat to make it so disgusting.

And Tesco to, had a bit of lamb the other wek that was presented in the pack to hide the fact that it was about 75% fat on the other side.

Very wary of supermarket meat, but might chance this one.
#21
thats me sorted, steak dinner and despicable me to watch all for under a tenner, cheers OP

Yeah, I'm sure the staff at the packing plant are told to conceal the fat using the labels.

Thanks for the heads up . . . just been and got myself 3 large pieces.

I can vouch for the quality, by far the tastiest of the major supermarkets. I got some topside from my local butchers a few months back to test alongside Morrisons, as everyone was saying the butchers meat was best . . . . well the Morrisons topside had more taste by far.

I use a couple of Knorr beef cubes, olive oil, salt and pepper, and slap the steak in the mixture. I bought a griddle type cast iron frying pan especially for steak. Three minutes one side, then three minutes the other (turning heat right down for the last two minutes of the three). Wrap in foil and leave for five minutes. Perfect tender, medium rare rump steak !

Rump is my favourite ;)

Yes and im not bias because i work there. The steak is bought in fresh cut up by the butchers than packed on the shelf. It doesn't come in pre packed like m&s

actually thanks for that.... got 9 of them today at the self scan , though the lady behind me, the supermarket assistant was going to chuck me out, but she didn`t.... I might even go back this week to get some more.... its really a fantastic price and a very good quality too,,, and I`m personally sick of paying around 15 pounds per kilo at the NT farm shop, or about 13.50 at tesco ...

I need to start writing these deals down as I went into Morrisons last night for milk and kept saying to my OH that I was sure there was something else I wanted to look at ....it was this, damn it !!
