Not quite.

Dvds are still in wide useage, it will be several more years before they will be considered obsolete.

Hot deal. I bought it as a Christmas present a few months ago for £14.99. I'm not surprised by Amazon reducing it this close to Christmas but it still annoys me how blatant the retailers are about ripping us off before Christmas.

If you walk into a high street store you'll see DVDs being stocked in vast quantities thereby suggesting lots of people buy them. I too am flummoxed by the apparent ongoing popularity of DVD. People happily pay hundreds for 'Full HD' tellies and then skimp on the paltry cost of a Blu Ray player to watch films in 1/4 of the definition.

A lot of TV shows are not released on BluRay though... Brooklyn Nine-Nine as an example.

Personally, I bought this the day it came out on Google Play for £20-something, because I enjoyed it so much.

However, with no sky/virgin box upstairs, its nice to watch in bed!

I can attest to that as I have spent fruitless time searching for Luther and even Breaking Bad (when it was up to season 2)
