One for the crafters - please be kind.

Yesterday I did something I never thought I would do; whilst flicking through daytime TV I saw the word 'Brother'... "Shopping channels?!" I hear you shout. Well, I've been after a new machine for a while, and Brother is a truly reliable brand so I tuned in.

RETAIL PRICE £600. This is clearly an end of line machine as few stockists left, it looks like they are selling off the last few machines - I, and you too, should have no issue with this as this is the reason you're getting a deal on the price, 3 year warranty still included and it's a brother, so more than reliable and personally more than everything I need for daily use.

To get the advertised price:

Ideal world selling for £299.99 and £3 delivery. Join their craft membership, for £20 and receive £10 credit (unclick option to automatically renew, no ties), takes price down to membership price of £270, pay with your £10 credit.

£270 plus the £10 spent on membership and postage makes this £283.

IMO this is a HOT DEAL. After watching what I would usually consider biased rubbish for 1 hour I was sold. This machine is great for BEGINNERS OR ADVANCED sewers. Designed with quilters in mind but as a small fashion brand this has everything I need.

This is my first computerised machine and is not TOO computerised so you still get that hand crafting feeling, but simply aids your task eg speed limiter, default stitch reset, and lots more. I'm a big fan of manual but this seems the perfect step into the modern sewing world for me.

Briefly, I thought this was great because of the incredible ability to sew through EIGHT thick LAYERS of fabric, the 130 stitches including lettering (be aware one size only), solid construction AND lightweight, so many different accessories that I would have looked to buy whatever my purchase including free darning needle, extension table, all types of useful feet, hardcase cover etc - see below description to get the full contents.

1 x Brother FS130QC 130 Stitch Computerised Sewing Machine - Includes:
Walking Foot with Quilting Guide
Quilting Foot
Quarter Inch Quilting Foot
Eyelet Punch
Wide Extension Table
Instruction Book
Instruction DVD
Accessory Pack:
Zigzag Foot (on machine)
Buttonhole Foot
Overcasting Foot
Monogramming Foot
Zipper Foot
Blind Stitch Foot
Button Fitting Foot
Seam Ripper
4 Bobbins (one on machine)
Needle Set
Twin Needle
Ball Point Needle
Cleaning Brush
Disc Shaped Screwdriver
Spool Cap (large)
Spool Cap (medium - on machine)
Spool Cap (small)
Extra Spool Pin
Foot Controller

If you need a demonstration like me, it will be being shown on ideal world tv at 8pm today.

Ideal world aren't too bad a company having bought a few items from them before .. just for anyone not sure about the " shopping channel" purchase. Also you get to " try it and return it" if it doesn't work out for you generally without too much fuss and only loss of postage

thanks for the heads up. Though I feel confident having watched an hour worth of demonstrations it's good to know I'd only lose £3 plus return postage if I decided against it. I checked them out as sellers a fair bit before purchase

The same machine is available new on eBay for £219.99 with free delivery with 42 sold so far

They make a song and dance about 14 days as if it's their great gift to the 'peasants'. It's Not, it's the law!

Yeah I agree to an extent but to use a product and return it ... even cosmetics .. that isn't the law as far as im aware and still applies under the money back guarantee
