This is an absolutely amazing price for an All-In-One Wireless and Wired Networkable Printer, scanner, photocopier, fax machine. Seems to have some pretty good reviews too. Unfortunately, the price is an introductory offer by PC World and it will go up to £189.99 from 26/05/07. Also, from looking at the Brother website there is a Linux driver available for this printer too so Ubuntu fans as well as fans of other linux distros are in luck here.

#6
In stock for me, both home and uni address. Excellent price, if I hadn't recently bought a printer (also brother) i'd snap this up immediately!
#7
Dont forget your free 3 year on site warranty offer (or free label printer or USB stick) as per my post here

Long thread discussing the ins and outs of this deal over on moneysavingexpert HERE including where to buy cheap ink etc etc

@1200x1200dpi, it's not going to be great. Most modern inkjet photo printers are around 4800dpi, and some are even around 5760dpi.

But, being a network scanner/printer/copier it's more aimed at small business than photoprinting.

Good for the price. Voted hot. I'd buy it if I needed it. Most Brother ink cartridges are pretty reasonable as well, although I haven't them checked out for this particular unit.

There aren't any in my local store and I can't seem to order one for delivery even though it says delivery possible. So annoying!

Thanks TahirH and Welcome to Hukd's from me too :)

For those with problems getting it delivered (and also because it is now not available as collect at store any more) you may still be able to get it from your local store if you go there.

You can ring this free number to check stock level at your store before you go
there: 0800 0565732 (from www.saynoto0870.com).

Can someone confirm they have got the free extra 2 years warranty from Brother, and if so how it came? I have tried to apply for it but did not get any sort of confirmation that it worked, either on the website or to the email I gave. Does something eventually come in the post or something?

Another confusing thing, the website product registration for the standard 1 year has the option to additionally give the serial number for the extended one on the same form. As I obviously haven't got that number yet I did not proceed, because I could not see any option to later register the extra warranty on its own, which made me concerned you might have to register the extended at the same time as the product for it to be valid. Is that right?

Finally after 2 days of torture trying to get hold of one of these it's finally avaliable for delivery

From mse may be worth a punt.

Just give Viking a call and get them to price match.

I've done this in the past, and i didn't want to give payment details over the phone so they let me order online and refunded the money later.

The added bonus is that you get quidco too. http://img.moneysavingexpert.com/smilies/cool.gif

Should add that i am an existing customer there, but new customers should be ok too - they have a price promise.

Doesn't look as if Viking are stocking this model, I think probably your best chance is to keep an eye on pcworld and see if it comes back instock from past experience the odd one or two show as avaliable presumably from cancelled orders.

Had a call from pcworld today cancelling my order and telling me they are not getting any more stock, not even at the higher price!?

so I guess this is expired

Got the same call they blamed it on Brother for not coming through with the stock, it's taken them 4 days of having my money to let me know though.

I was lucky to get this item from PC World at the beginning of May when it was reduced. I have just set it up with the new Dell 520 and it works a dream. I downloaded the Vista drivers off of the Brother website and it's given me no problems whatsoever. It connected to my wireless network easily and it's not that slow at printing as some of the reviews seem to suggest. The free label printer came the other day too. Overall I am well impressed.
